  • Should the club reveal its transfer budget?

    I think they should.

To be honest i dont care if its 10 mill or 500k, but by revealing this to us we can know what to expect, thus stopping the dissapointment if we dont buy big.

By the way, i feel that 2-3 million can get you some very good players at this level. No need to spend over the odds.

Budget no, transfer strategy for the future without question.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

To be fair mate no club is going to go on record and say, 'we have 2m to spend on players' because then other clubs valuations rise when we come knocking on the door. I for one dont think the mittals are going to go mad on the spending even though its plainly obvious we need a reshuffle(players in and players out)

Is there a pot of money for transfers?

Even if there is, letting everyone know how much you have in your pocket is never a good idea.

No, we might aswell just ask the team who we are trying to buy the player off to price us out of a deal. I'd like to know but it is in the best interests of the club that it is kept a secret

            I don't agree with a transfer budget.
The way we should work is if a decent players is available who will improve the current squad at a non inflated price then we should swoop. Depending on how many bargains we find will relate to the overall total. If we get rid of as much dead wood as possible earning silly money then we should have a decent budget. I think 10 million would sound about right because I expect 7 or 8 of this current squad to move on. Fresh start is needed.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

No, they can show us their budget by us seeing which players we can afford.
But it would be nice if we were kept in the loop in some way also what their plan is with Season ticket pricing.

I have to disagree because a budget allows the manager to structure how much he is going to spend on each position and allows him to make sure he fills all the positions he needs (and doesnt rely on loans) because the mittals could decide after a few signings that he has spend too much and he has to loan but if given a budget he can build a team.

It would be a bad decission to make our budget public knowledge. If we do this, every club will know what we have to spend and wil try to hold us to ransome.

To be fair though, every club knows who our owners are and how much they are worth and will look to take advantage anyway. Possibly why Flavio didnt want to spend previously?

If the club came out and said we have a small budget to bring in 2 or 3 players that would be sufficient.

Let's hope you never, ever, ever run your own business, let alone QPR.

BUDGETS is where its at, without them, you will have no viable business as you won't if you fail to work within them.

Anyway, surely our transfer budget is undisclosed.

Just because your wife gives you a budget of £10 every week please don't bring your own personal life into the discussion Dav.

Crickey, if my wife gave me as much as £10, I wouldn't have a clue where to spend it; is that about the price of a half these days???
