Some very astute observations. I wonder if any of you read the Daily Mail article today, about the PL stranglehold on things, yo yo clubs and the (lack of) success of promoted clubs, when they get to the PL.
Says that of the 198 games, played by 6 promoted teams since Aug 2023, they have won only 23. This season in isolation, it is 9 from 84.
So, we give it our best shot, but the cards are stacked heavily against all clubs like ours.
The game is horribly skewed. I guess this was inevitable when the mega money moved in and needed to ensure the safety of their investments. I blame Trump

I think it's a given that those out of contract are basically gone. If the player wants to be here and we want the player a contract would have long been done and announced. I suspect our limited budget is a stumbling block too, we may want a player but can't improve or even match their current terms.

Anyway, on balance I strongly believe Frey deserves another year. I can't see he'd break the bank and I'd be happy to see him here next season if a sensible deal can be agreed - I thought some of his hold up play today was excellent. We need at least 4 viable strikers in the squad and I reckon he's shown enough to earn one of those spots next term.

We need to get one more CF alongside Frey, Kolli & Lloyd.

Celar will be gone as his misses hates London and want to go home.....allegedly!

Lloyd has to go on loan I think. He's not very good and I'm not sure he is at this level. We need 2 extra strikers, kolli is a bit injure prone already and we seem to pin all our hopes on Michi. Love his effort but he needs help..

Chalie Kelman scoring plenty (15) for Orient this season makes me think that Marti will take a look at him during the preseason. Lloyd should go out on loan imo. He lacks composure ...

Kellman definitely worth a look, hopefully he has gained enough experience to establish a place in the team.

If Jimmy stays I'd try him up front(obviously not 100%serious), seems to have a real eye for goal though.

I will keep Kelman and send Lloyd on loan instead. If Kelman was not ours, we would consider an offer of £2 - £3 million to bring him over from Div 1. Remember Washington and Bonnie? I watched him playing for Leyton against Man City and he was brilliant.

His contract expires at the end of the season and he'll be a free agent to chase the biggest contract.

I could be wrong but of all the out of contract players I would assume Paul Smyth would be the one most within our budget and also he seems to love being here. The fact there is no mention of a new contract suggests we don’t want to keep him. Though his stats are not brilliant, he always makes an impact on games and his pace is a handful for defenders. Give me him over Yang any day.

In this league, Smyth is an excellent squad player for literally any team based on how he's performed this year, should certainly keep, clearly keeps himself in good shape, doesn't get injured. Yes lacks final product but he definitely brings reliable, if limited, impact as a starter or a sub

We may have offered him a new contract, but he may want to keep his options open and see if he gets a substantially better deal elsewhere...?

Armstrong went to Brizzle City for better wages.

Smyth might get an extra £5k a week being a squad player at a club with a bigger budget than ours.

Looks like Larkeche is back playing well after a spell out injured - I take it he's still under contract to us next season?
Could be a ready made replacement for Paal. Bit baffling why we shipped him out on loan this season, hope there not some underlying issue with him.
