Shame he's not contracted for another year, not sure he's good enough for the champ but he has proved he can do it in league 1. I would imagine a fee clubs down there would have paid good money for him in the summer. Now they are getting him for free.

Not great business for us but hey ho.....

One goal every three games at L1 level is hardly the stuff that gets you at shot in the championship. If we brought him back he'd be in fourth place behind Frey, Kolli & Lloyd fighting for one striking role.

I'm glad he's doing well and getting regular football, but I'd be amazed if we offered him a new contract to be part of our first team squad next season.

Would be no point for us or him. We play with one striker meaning he would be scratching around for sub minutes in the main. Needs regular football which he is now getting. Wish him luck in finding a decent League 1 club next season so he can hopefully continue to develop.

Do L1 teams have the money to buy players on transfer fees these days? There aren't many championship club that pay fees these days?

          Dunno?

Brum spanked 10m on stansfield so it can be done. Granted that won't happen again but just goes to show that the bigger clubs will still throw money at someone. Scoring against Wrexham last night probably puts him on their radar if they don't go up.

Depending on who goes down from champ could mean he gets a move there and gets a good contract out of it.

I cannot see the logic of loaning him out for last year of his contract - it's daft and pointless. The only possible reason I can think of is this:

We told him he had no future here and wanted to release him or let him move on a freebie. He refused, and demanded to see out the final year of his contract. Ended up loaned to Os who may or may not be paying his full wages.

That sounds pretty crummy, but it needn't be - it could be amicably done and all sides are happy. It does assume he's out of contract this summer though.

Obviously if he has another year on his contract with us his Os form might mean we can ask a moderate fee for him this summer. But, as Sheep says above, a dozen third tier goals is nothing to crow about and no guarantee of quality. Think Connor Washington and that guy we bought off Charlton (forget his name)... we spunked a good few £mil on that pair based in their L1 antics.

Transfermarkt states his contract is up at the end of this season. There is nothing there about an option, which i have seen for other players on that platform, but we keep things close these days.

As Abs stated, I think he was loaned out in the last year because he wasnt in our plans. His goalscoring is no Ivan Toney to knock Frey, Kolli & Lloyd off the fight for one lead striker in our formation.

He'll be away in the summer, but like Smyth, we can look at him again when he'll be free agent again in three years time when he'll still only be 26yrs and coming into his peak.

Thats my guessing on the matter..

He's on 18 goals now with some more games to go. He will hit the 20 mark soon. To keep insisting that he is not good enough for CCC is pure madness. Some are making their comments based on what they saw when last played for us. The guy improved a lot. Is it not why players are loaned out? He may save us a few millions!

I dont think hes going to save us that money because he won't be our player in the summer due to his contract expiring. We will have to go into the mix with other clubs if Marti fancies him. We didn't loan him out to develop him, we loaned him out because he wanted him off our books in the last year of his contract. That's my understanding of the situation.

I am sure that I read somehwere that he has one more year left with us. MC also said that the club will look into the Kelman situation at the end of the season. If not, its another fine mess we end up in!

Transfermarkt says his contract is up at Orient, but nothing about our contract. Perhaps I've got the wrong end of the stick having found this below.

"Contrary to some beliefs, the 23-year-old isn’t out of contract with his parent club, and that means that a decision on Kelman’s future doesn’t necessarily mean a decision has to be made this summer, which is a good position for QPR to be in heading into the summer. The fact that Kelman’s deal doesn’t expire will have interesting implications on any potential transfer, as suitors will be forced to cough up a fee that the R’s demand if he’s to be sold. It seems highly unlikely that Cifuentes will want to loan the striker out again".

The lack of transparency on Qpr contracts is very frustrating.

Difficult to see a great outcome now we have let a player get to their last year of contract (assuming he's our until 2026)... in no particular order I reckon these are the possible scenarios:

                            1) He signs a 2-yr extension and tears up The Championship for us.

                            2) He won't sign an extension, goes out on loan again next season. Then leaves.

                            3) He won't sign an extension, but we manage to get a moderate 6 figure sum for him over the summer.

                            4) He wont sign an extension, becomes a piece of deadwood at the club for 12 months. Then leaves.

                            5) He won't sign an extension, does very well for us next season. Then leaves.

I literally have no idea which one will pan out.

Great that he is scoring goals but it doesn't make any difference. He's isn't suited to the way we set up or play. He's too small to be a target man. He needs to play next to something, not on his own.

He will be on the bench so he's wasting his career with us. Good luck to him if he can get a good contract at a decent club.

I agree, but could he play nos 10.?

Marti will need to have a very good look at him and see whether Lloyd needs to go out on loan.

Some players thrive by playing regularly and Kelman may be one of them. He won't be a starter for us as a loan striker so you say.

Perhaps we can get £500k and a 25% sell on for him from a top L1 club?
