31 years old, injury prone and past his peak, now avergaing a goal every 7 games or so. On loan maybe, definitely not worth paying money for, and he'd command a decent fee. I'm sure he's a decent guy none the less.
For strikers, we really really need to find out whats going on with Kolli, looka a very decent prospect and a threat for goals, yet there's this lingering contract...
He's a player you want to see starting for the opposition. You immediately feel your chances of winning have increased two-fold because they ain't gonna be scoring. I literally couldn't think of a worse signing to make.
If we signed him then Kolli would be straight out the door. We have to give Kolli & Lloyd meaningful game time. Signing Bamford, or any other senior forward, could loss us multiple millions in transfer income in the years ahead.

Talking of young Lloyd, I see club have extended his contract now. You'd hope that Kolli and Dunne will soon follow suit but I get the feeling both of them are keeping their options open...

I hope Kolli doesn't see himself as some sort of superstar that wants to be number one. Surely any pro has to accept squad rotation these days. If he drops to L1 then it would be to come back to the Championship, how many have gone L1 to Prem? He's already at this level and maybe wants assurances that next season it will be him, Lloyd and one other. He knows with Frey and Celar he's third choice for one slot.
If Celar gets moved on in Jan, I'd expect Kolli to extend. If not, I think he'll wait till to summer to see what competition he's up against.

My bet is he's got a bit of the Ravel about him, thinks he's got it all and doesn't need to train as hard.
He's starting games because he was needed, in squad because he is needed, and he has talent.
From what i've seen he's naturally better than Celar in a similar style, he's not Frey because he's not as physical. There's no way, given our constant need for a striker, and given just how valuable strikers that know where the goal is are, there has to be some personality problems.
I can sit in the stands and watch games. The club should consider me as a viable alternative to Bamford on that basis and pay me what they would be prepared to pay him.

He made some sub appearances at start of last season, I saw him come on at Boro and you could see he had something about him and was frankly a much more complete player than Armstrong. But, despite the growing evidence that Armstrong was not much cop and it becoming obvious in January Armstrong was not committing to us, Kolli was largely overlooked (in fairness he was injured quite a bit).
This season he was totally blanked in favour of the misfiring Celar and only came into the picture when Frey and Celar were injured. So, you can kinda forgive him for feeling somewhat unloved and unwanted by Marti. He has to look out for No.1 so I wouldn't blame him for delaying any decision until the Summer and seeing what clubs are interested in him. This situation has arisen due to the club mishandling him in my view, it's not really Kolli's fault nor is it a "big time Charlie" attitude.

All very true and reasonable.
But he's in the team now and he'll stay there if he continues to do well. We only play one up front and we now have four strikers. I think it will be Kolli & Lloyd plus one other for next season. I think we'll extend Frey for another season and Celar will move on. Kolli isn't going to get championship football elsewhere with only competition from two others, one of which is behind him in the pecking order. We want to progress young players and I think he'll sign on the summer, oe sooner if Celar goes in this window.
Kolli been linked with a couple of French sides. The one striker set up is an issue. For him to get regular starting football here would need both Frey and Celar to be out otherwise it will be odd starts and regular sub appearances.
Even if Celar and Frey are not here next season I would expect the club to sign a couple of Championship standard replacements so he would be in same position. That is not to say he couldn't force his way into side as regular starter but you can see why joining a club who typically play with two up top might appeal.
