Also the comments about age shouldn't matter, I understand about the contract but if someone is happy they are less likely to leave and playing normally means happy. I don't know why i'd risk staying if even when I do well I get dumped to the subs bench so a 30 year old striker with no sell on value can start instead.

Agreed, seems to be getting better with every game. He's a far better player now than when we first signed him.
