I know............I've got my rose tinted glasses on again!

But through the rough games a lot of fringe players have gained experience that now means our squad has more depth to it.

With a few Jan additions could we make up this eleven point gap? It would be nice to flirt with sixth after a decent run!!

Bet you wasn't saying that at half time yesterday.

Love the way you rangers fans that remember the good era love to 'knock' hence username the side on not playing sexy football. Christ most of the time we lose and play unattractive football so I'm delighted with the result and turnaround of form
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I put a bet on for us to be promoted this year before the season started. So let's go with yes even if for no other reason.

It's results that matter not performances. First half wasn't great but we weren't in danger of conceding. All to play for and we can forget a relegation battle in my opinion. Plymouth and Oxford have nothing, and Hull are rock bottom.

We've seen from teams above us like Watford & Norwich that we shouldn't discount ourselves. A finish around 8-12th is achievable now, and with a bit of luck........

We can aim for play offs tbh most on here would of been happy at mid table no hassle stress free season, er nope we don’t do boring

as poor a 1st half we stepped it up and Oxford fell apart given kolli got sod all service he was sharp enough to snap shot away climbed well for 1st goal chair back and we were comfy 2nd half

yep they’ll be tougher opposition but oxfords the kind of game we mess up so all in all positives

re play offs someone always pops up late no reason why can’t be us as Watford we should of hammered and Norwich completely outplayed

we’re doing ok considering Marti should of had a p45 by now

If Marti hadn't just signed a new contract he may well have been given the boot. I'm glad he wasn't after what he did last season. He was given a lot of backing and perhaps Marti and Norauy read the riot act to the squad?

I'm happy to see us getting to six points away from 6th so will give us a bit of hope as the season goes by and into each new game.

There's not much difference between teams and getting that player who can get one goal in two could make all the difference.

              Fine margins......to quote Warbs!

I have to eat humble pie, as I was all for Marti going at the last international break. I am glad to have been proved wrong and hope the upturn continues. I actually can't work out what has changed and we still look poor at times. I'm not sure the play offs are a reasonable target but hey, why not go for it. This league is certainly full of average sides. With our injured players coming back, the signs should be good.

Jesus wept Sheep, even with your track record of blinkered vision this is a big one!

We would need to pick up 52pts from remaing 26 games. That would entail winning at least 15 games and losing a max of 6.

To put it into perspective.... lets assume Leeds or Sheff Utd will be champions. We would have to virtually match them point-for-point over the remainder of the season. Basically, we have to put in the level of performance and consistency of a table topping team just to finish 6th.

With the best will in the world, it will not happen. Additionally, we are deeply in the relegation mire and cannot be distracted from that fact. It's easier to move up the bottom half of the table, we must focus on building a gap between us and the drop zone. The aim is 50+ points ie 8 or 9 more wins hopefully sooner rather than later.
