  • Hoping Chelsea lad comes in and rumours of lad from Brazil we need 2 x fb Ashby is woeful and paal is release in summer

not sure we jimmy can’t allow to not get a fee in summer if he ain’t signing a deal Monday then gotta go imo and get something for him

we got Morrison cook back we’re not going to go down and play offs unrealistic rather we build now for next season than faff about and be way off the pace in summer as per this season

    • I think we'll stick with Kolli & Lloyd next season, plus one other and I doubt Frey or Celar will be here. The former has had injuries and there's no resale value and the latter doesnt want to be here. We seem to be building a team where 75% will be under 23yrs to improve resale chances.

I'm still amazed there's no humours of our marquee signing Madsen heading back over the water. It just goes to show we've overpaid on the transfer fee and wages. He's just too expensive to to re-sign. My guess he's on the bench to limit his appearances to stop it triggering another transfer payment and hopefully he'll get bored and be happy to take a wage cut to leave us.

Yes it is what we have to do as a club but in the Championship it is imperative that we get the 25% “experienced” players right. If we let Cook, Fox, Colback, Frey leave in the summer we are taking a massive risk here. I think we have the midfield to cope without Colback but would extend Frey for another year and try to keep at least one or Cook and Fox, possibly both, as much as I rate JCS you can’t rely on him with injuries and with Dunne likely to go, we are losing a lot of experience in defence.

I think our experienced players will be 25-29 yrs who have 150+ appearances. There are expensive here so will likely come from overseas. Cook will be 34 in April and Frey 31 in July. If Cook stays he will not play as much, do will have to massively come down from his Caplogy stated wages of £30k a week. Frey......does he have the goals and fitness, dunno.

I reckon we need to look for better than Fox and younger than Colback......???????

          • This article suggests we want £3m for Dunne, so Sheff Utd looking at Rob Holding instead.

That's the club being sensible. We don't want to lose him mid season but if he is going to go, we're gonna get a good whack for him.

Even £2m is a lot to lose if he won't sign in the summer.

I'm sure he will either leave tomorrow, or they'll announce he's signed a new contract before KO on Tuesday, just like they did with Chair.

                • Short career, I don't want to block Jimmy from securing decent terms in his prime. He's been excellent player for us, always given his all.

Disappointed if he leaves but won't boo him if he plays against us.

We just need to secure reasonable terms. My guess, £1m

                  • Sheff Utd improve bid for QPR's Dunne

Latest from Sky Sports News senior reporter Tim Thornton:

Sheffield United have made an improved bid to sign central defender Jimmy Dunne from QPR.

The Blades had a bid rejected last week.

Chris Wilder is also assessing other options as he attempts to bolster his defence before tonight’s deadline.

Imo we either sell him today or extend his contract today cant allow to walk for free for the sake of a few games when were not far from safety and not really going to make top 6 with or without him

                        Completely agree

                        Move fast Nourry

If he wants to go, sell away. If he's inclined to stay, he's as good as a new signing, give him a bonus with a new contract, he's earnt it.

Both on same thought process deserves a new deal if he fancies new challenge so be it not a lot we can do

                          • Dunne is a £10m championship player, which comes to £3.33m per season over 3 years. Or, £1.66m for half a season.

If they've increased their offer to £2m, and a promotion add-on, we should take it if he wants away. That basically values him at £12m on a three year contract.

                            • From SkySports Centre

"Talks are now progressing for Sheffield United to secure a loan move for Crystal Palace defender Rob Holding.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is keen to sign a central defender before tonight's deadline, and the club have identified several options.

The club have made two bids for QPR defender Jimmy Dunne, but Rangers are reluctant to sell unless they can find a replacement.

And that has paved the way for Holding to move to Bramall Lane in a deal until the end of the season".

                              • Hope he stays. The impact, staying or going, positive or negative, could be significant.
I actually think Jimmy could do better than SU.
A yo-yo club forever I think. Did you see them play Hull just recently? Of course, a player's career is short and money important. Just saying..
