But not good enough to boost Cambridge's ranks?

If they signed him for a year they should keep him. Unless we can convince Newcastle to end Ashby's season long agreement.

The lad is a monumental waste of space. The amount of lads who are let go ny their clubs and never get a chance to have another go. Here's this lad, gets chance after chance and still has no interest in doing what he's being paid to do. Rip up his contract. He's bad news. Let me go to court and embarrass himself even further.

Thousands would die to swap places with him yet hes just not interested. The fact that the bottom club in league 2 wants him gone tells you enough.

Does his contract with QPR end this summer?

          • Why do they want to end it? They must've known he was shite when they took him on. I can't believe they're paying his full wages either, I'd be staggered if they were paying more than 10% of them. I felt the move was not "real" anyway, sort of "cosmetic" to get the guy out of the limelight and off our radar... give him chance to rebuild. They must've been agreeable and complicit to it all so strange if they now want to pull the plug? Anyway, they can eff off. Last thing we need is his buzzkill around our squad.

            • Just read elsewhere he still has 18 months with us. Brighton mugged us off big style with him. They knew he was never going to cut it hence the obligation to buy in the loan deal.

                  • I cannot believe that we are unable to sack this waster , in any other industry he would be sacked .
He is a horrible little ponce and please QPR , learn from this and don't agree to buy after loan , just an option to buy.

                    • Did you really just throw a gay insult out there so openly in 2025? Sort out your abusive language out, it shows your lack of class.

And why call him that? All because he doesn't want to play football or isn't as good as we thought he was?
He's being paid well, it's not his fault we paid him as we did and he's not as good as we thought. We made an offer and he accepted. Like it or hate it, no need to result to name calling. If QPR offered me 15k a week I'd accept it too and go laughing all the way to the bank.

I think you maybe thinking of no nce, a ponce is someone gaining from another by not earning it.

I would imagine harrow used the word (ponce) in respect that he’s earned a wage without doing anything for it rather than a sexual slur

one of them words more than one meaning and depending on how you interpret it.

Either way pretty much all agree not one of our best recruitment he’s been paid to do a job and he’s not been up to it either for us or Cambridge 4x for us and 5x for them in any other profession he’d be sacked. Perhaps once the income stops the penny may drop with him

I think the main issue is that he chooses not to perform to a level he is capable of.
Don't take this the wrong way, but when I started reading your reply about a gay insult, I almost spat out my coffee laughing.

In these past few years some people have become some sensitive, that you getting the feeling that you need a proof reader to check every word you are about to post in case someone can misinterpret what you are saying.

We bought him from the get-go. The "loan" was a bit of financial chicanery for FFP purposes. We basically bought him with a "nothing to pay for 12 months" deal. Suited Brighton too cos it got him out the building and got his wages off the books.

And to be fair to the club, I don't recall many of us moaning when the initial deal was announced - looked okay on paper at that point. BUT...... it's hard to believe he'd been a perfect model pro before joining us - surely there must've been some indicators of his character we could've unearthed? Maybe we were just darned unlucky though.
