We should be recalling loans like this.

I'm wondering if there was some real/fake interest in Marti from somewhere else, possibly in Spain, so club felt it needed to "protect its asset" and ensure we got decent compo if he did a "Beale" on us?

One thing, my view is Marti signing that contract meant he was giving validation to the summer recruitment. He was basically saying, yes - I'm happy to stay here with these players. I think that's an important point to keep in mind when folks try and blame the players instead of Marti for our predicament.
Another excellent point, but Marti was hardly likely to say 'hey look i've signed this new contract, but i'm not sure about these players so don't blame me if it goes #### up'

We'll see in coming gales and interviews if he drops any further hints that he's not happy with the signings.

I hope we don't see another Warbs toys out the pram strategy of picking the wrong players in the wrong positions to cut off his nose to spite the face.

If that happened I would be done for the rest of the season.

Yeah, but what utter dross that would be. He done less than nothing.

Cannot be any truth in that just stirring it up.

French news outlet L'Equip is the apparent source.

It'll be a brave (or desparate) man who would take us on. Haven't heard Mark Robbins say anything but couldn't blame him for not fancying it.
How about Justin Welby. I hear he is out of work and has some good contacts!!!

My view is we have to see what happens after the international break. With some injured players back in the team things may look up.

But if we drop him, then it has to be for an experienced championship manager. Get Robins in on the promise of more Jan signings and a direct input to their selection. On that basis he might be tempted.

We aren't sacking Marti before the Jan window, he'll get the window and a month after it i reckon.

The period after this break is vital obviously, so that we don't fall adrift but also in getting to understand if Marti can solve this with some players back, or if he's toast.

Who exactly is going to be back after the break, what is the current status of?

                  JCS
                  Paal
                  Colback
                  Frey
                  Dembele
                  Fox

I see lots of generic muscle / leg injury but no timelines - https://www.besoccer.com/team/injuri...ark-rangers-fc

We weren't exactly setting the division on fire before this proliferation of injuries. I hope I am wrong, but I believe giving Marti more time to try to fix things, might be seen as a mistake at sometime in the near future. Given what we have seen thus far, I just can't imagine us coming out and playing in a manner we would all like to see. We are either incapable of doing so, or Marti is out of his depth.

I would be truly happy to see us start climbing the table under Marti, but I just can't see it happening.
The transfer window will be key to any negotiations with a possible new manager.

QPR loanee Ziyad Larkeche is expected to miss the next 10 to 12 weeks through a hamstring tear, The Courier has revealed.

I think its more of a case of waiting to see who's coming available on the manager merry-go-round.... Postapoglu? Dyche? Lineker......... One thing: we can't go crawling back to Wild Thing - he's taken Shrews job.

Postapoglu & Dyche....? They wouldn't give us a second look with our budget.

But would clubs with a budget give them a second look? We should think BIG - no reason we can't interest a managerial Whale. Don't even have to be "manager"... 6-month consultancy with esoteric description like "Director of Strategy" so if it goes titties up it's not technically a stain on their manager track record .
Surely Ange would be in breach of his visa if Spuds binned him, might suit him to stay in London if he and partner/family have taken a shine to shopping in Harrods. It's football: nothing can be ruled out.

Pity is it? When things start going against you they can only get worse! Next time I will mention Celar and Masden!
