A little aside, from worrying about what might happen tomorrow.
Red cards have affected us from time to time as they affect all clubs. A friend and I were talking about them and the severe impact that they can have on a game and as a result, the entertainment value of that game, to what could be a huge number of people, at the ground and via media.
We came up with the idea that cards, yellow and red, should still be given by the referee as they are now. However, upon production of a 2nd yellow or a straight red, that player must be substituted. The game continues as an equal affair, 11 vs 11.
In order to enforce the seriousness of such offences, the offending player, will also see the opposing team given a penalty.
Suspension rules would remain as now.
This is just an idea, but the fans are the most important people, and where possible, should see a game contested by 2 complete teams
Interested in any feedback you may have
Thanks
