It started well for Noury. He took some good decisions and everyone accepted that we have a great young CEO managing the club. The problem is that he thinks of himself as a great leader and took it upon himself to take all crucial decisions. Even deciding we do not need a DOF! He maybe good on the financial aspects, however, he do not have a clue on recruting players. We got rid of too many players and replace them with lower quality ones. With seven first team players out injured, we all know that the squad is small. And that is another factor!

I’m not sure that any relegation is ever ‘good’ and while you can definitely make a case for a reset, and I wouldn’t argue against that at all, I think a drop down doesn’t give us a right to be winning or coming back immediately.

We spent the guts of 4.5m on madsen and celar. That's not pocket change. Other clubs haven't spent that kind of money yet they are miles better than us. We have been buying crap for years and nothing has changed. Our recruitment team if you want to call them that are an absolute joke. Andy Belk should resign tonight if he had any decency. But he won't cos Christian the clown doesn't know what he's doing. It's the blind leading the blind.

The fact is the club DID spend a lot of money on 2 complete unknowns. Celar may have a decent record scoring in the Swiss league but he doesn't suit the way we play. We play 1 up front so we needed back up to frey not an alternative.

We need a big strong lump that can cause problems for big strong defenders. Yet we signed a guy who is miles out of his depth and looks broken already. Madsen was never going to fit into this league or our way of playing. He has no pace, is weak and doesn't want to put a tackle in.

MC should have had the balls to say no to these players if he was consulted but I don't think he was.

In fairness to Charlton we are a bigger club than them. We are in a complete mess and it's hard to see how we are getting out of it. As bad as the players have been I think MC is equally cupable for our current situation. Anyone else would have been sacked by now. 1 win in 14 games is pathetic. He is underforming. Simple as.

Key players for me include goalkeeper. We have Nardi and two younger keepers. The younger ones would benefit from a season in League One so I personally would make them battle it out for number one jersey. Nothing wrong with Nardi in my view but we need to look long term. Defender wise we haven't seen much of him but Morrison has played League One before and done well so make him a regular. Try and keep Cook for a year to give us some solidity and general leadership. Midfield if Varane keeps improving try and keep him and make him main central midfielder. Going forwards keep Dembele and make him key remaining attacking player. Outside of that have likes of Morgan, Lloyd and maybe Kolli as squad players and if they can become regulars then great. If any other youngsters look potentially League One standard add them to the squad mix. Still leaves one hell of a rebuild but if done competently we should do ok and give us a solid enough base to build on. Personally would prefer a break from being absolutely **** year on year even if it means being in a lower division. It is not fun any more and has not been for a while.

I don't rate Nardi at all, would put Walsh in and would do that now.

I think Field would stay on, Chair would go and that would be a good thing. JCS would go. The likes of Cook and Fox would likely stay.

Keeping Dembele would be important, the rest of the new signings can't really say. Saito is great but he's proven he's up for it, not how effective he is. Andersen would be sold or loaned out probably.

We really want to be staying up, and it's a long way from over, but old mate in the dug out has really got to work on something new with this group of players if there's any hope of some positive chat on this board.

I don't really know what his plan is? At least with GA (woeful though it was) we knew what he was trying to do. Marti has gone from a team knocking on promotion form, playing fairly effective championship total football, at least for a good chunk of last year, and now had whiteboarded or notebooked himself into an over complicated mess of strategies and and processes way eyond our station.

Who, of real consequence did we get rid of though? Asmir, Dykes and Willock? I'd argue all of them are better than their replacements. Other than that i think the outgoings had minimal effect to the spine of the team.

Dembele and Saito look ok, the rest have not taken to this task. Maybe Varane is showing something. I wonder who has really f**cked up here, Nourry, Marti, the players or all 3.

I think Charlton fans would disagree with you that they're a smaller club than us. They average 14-15k crowds in L1 even when midtable. Their ground is significantly bigger for sure.

I always considered them to be a least on par with us? But they certainly struggle to get out of L1 and if we went down there'd be no guarantees we'd return quickly.

We have to do everything to stay in as high a league as possible.

We are by no means rich but we are reasonably stable financially by EFL standards and should be able to exist comfortably in Championship midtable. If likes of Preston, Millwall, Blackburn can do it then so can we.

Also, does anyone seriously think we'd do well playing "Martiball" down there!? Effing hell, we'd get steamrolled and mauled even moreso than we are now.

Oddly, teams play out from back in L1 and L2. When Murphy on loan at Swindon, around 63% of his passes were short. Highest % in division at time.

Pitches are better, young managers who've worked at premier league academies.
