All I know is those boring repetitive Sunderland songs drove me mad , thank God they only had to top of the school.

Was a sellout so the website announced.
      Didn't hear an actual figure.

What I don’t understand is the netting at the School End, I watched the Wolves Palace game on Saturday night, Palace fans sat below Wolves fans , no netting.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

That tier in Molyneux is not under the tier above, it's in front of it. It's broadly same as our South Africa Rd stand, with Palace fans in the equivalence of our Paddocks.

The School End is "stacked" though, the top tier projects about 50% over the bottom tier. I suppose it's this stacking design that precludes us from using those front exposed rows.

I was at the San Siro many years ago and they have netting extending out from the upper tier to catch things that are thrown onto those below. People could throw drinks I guess, but that won't kill anyone. The netting was loose so obvious it's not for standing on and there were signs to make that clear too.

I can't see any reasons why we couldn't have netting on the upper tier and use all those seats below.

All to do with amount of tickets away teams can have, it’s 10% or 2,000 whatever is smaller.

ATM we give 1750 away tickets ie top tier based on sellout being around 17,500 if we opened all seats then away team would need over 1800 tickets which top tier does not hold.

I know club also does worry about objects and things being thrown at home supporters from above, although with CCTV that should be easy to stop .

Pretty sure there's netting at Bramall Lane. Used to be at Anfield too but dunno if the extension has changed that. Thing is, these are big stadia and I suspect the netting barely impinges on the view of the pitch. LR is so pokey I suspect any netting would block at least 10yds of pitch. You may say the netting is see-through. Maybe it is for those looking straight through it but the opacity would be much worse to anyone looking diagonally through it - obscuring view of goal for hundreds of seats is not on.

So all of the away fans in the lower tier at Wolves are targets for “missles” .
