Odd night as for the first 20 minutes of both halves we played the best we have at home all season.

First half especially we could have been 2-0 up, they then with their first shot scored, ball from corner luckily dropped to their player, he scored with a peach of a shot, 2nd Andersen was poncing about in his own penalty area and lost possession, real shame as he was playing fairly well, got back to 2-1 with a penalty via handball that I did not see.
Start of second half the same, all over them until another Miss hit shot from them trickled in.
We then went to pieces and Hull could easily have scored 2 or 3 more.
Only big pluses were Saito who had his best game and return of Chair.

Defensively both full backs and Dunne were extremely poor,. It’s gonna be a tough old season, losing when you play quite well is worrying.

When you watch the replay their third was a good strike. We just made it look a bit comical with out inept defending.

The game swung back hulls way with the celar chance. If frey gets that chance in his current form, he scores, it's 2-2 and game on!! Unfortunately it went to celar who looked like a pub player and we all know what happened next. It's small things like that that change a game. We should have been 2 nil up yet we were 2 nil down and they only had 2 shots on goal. We were unlucky but we seemed clueless in the last 30 mins. Don't know what formation we were playing and no idea what MC was doing. At one point we had 3 people playing right wing. For me only nardi, cook and saito came off the pitch with any credit.

Nardi has zero confidence in his defense.
I noticed against Sheff when we were 2-0 down, Nardi fell on the ball as if we were 2 up. Almost thinking, run the clock down so we can maintain an okish gd.

We are so easy to play against.

this ridiculous insistence on playing out from the back leads absolutely nowhere. Because we are so slow at it and allow all our play to be marked out of the game.

Hull played the same tactic but with pace and cut through us easily.

I thought their guy got lucky, he took a shot, Nardi went for that shot but it rebounded off a defender back to him somehow and he then had the left side of the goal at his mercy with Nardi committed to the initial effort.

Yes, I can see that as a very valid explanation.

Santos was woeful never a player at this level Miller had field day and you can't start with Anderson and Madsen far too slow the pair of them, Madsen better passing range and Anderson has been terrible so far this season.

If Ashby is not good enough to replace Santos at Rb no point in him being here. Paul Smyth how long left on his contract as he's not good enough either

Positive was Saito thought he had decent game we need to buck ourselves up and sharpish

Takes time for a team to gel and we brought in a number of players in the summer and many of those from abroad. However most teams are in the same position. We finished last season strongly and with our having forked out (by our standards) in the summer we should be looking at moving up the table. Ten games is enough of a settling in period to get a feel for a team even if it is not quite there. We have one win in ten and have not had a decent performance yet. The odd spell we have looked decent but in most games we have been second best a lot of the time. We need to start to see an improvement. No point relying on Chair to save us, there was always a good chance he would have left in the summer so we should be good enough without him.

We seem to have lost some of the solidity in our core, our central midfield still look sluggish, ineffectual and uninspired and we still do not carry enough punch going forwards.

If our model is to buy young players, improve them and sell them I would have to say at present on our summer signings we would struggle to get close to our money back.

Can see Madsen, Varane and Celar improving over time. Morrison not really had a chance yet. Dembele has looked good and Saito has promise and Nardi ok so not all doom and gloom. Still relatively early days and could come good but been pretty miserable so far! Like others I need to see some improvement in the next few games otherwise I can see it being another year of struggle down the bottom and we shouldn't be in that position.
