And for all Pep's genius you can't ignore fact his squad cost about £1Billion to assemble. Dunno what our squad cost, £8Miillion maybe? Blimey, think we may have been robbed!

Beggars can't be choosers. Adopting a style of play throughout the club is all well and good but if it leaves our first team precariously hovering above the trap door for most of the season I'm not sure it's worth the risk. Relegation would be disastrous.

I dont know, maybe it will come good when Chair comes back.

My only question on this 'playing from the back system' is ... what exactly it brings to a team? If you're not Man. City with all the quality they posses, it just make a team vulnerable to mistakes from the opponent high press or give time to the opposition to organise well in their half. I have full trust in MC and hope he will be able to turn things for the better.

The amount of times Greece had England scrambling back cos the tippy-tappy nonsense had broken down was staggering.

Made me think if England's finest players can't make this nonsensical approach work it's no surprise our players are making such a pig's ear of it! England get done by Greece, we get done by effing Hull and Derby..... in all three cases the opposition are made to look far better than they are too.
    Spot on

Well said Abseits. My feelings precisely. The game is being overthought massively. Also it becomes ever more boring as it does. This "thread" of playing a certain way, which is apparently running through our club, may see us relegated if persisted with in the Championship. A real shame as we have such potential.
Can't say any more. It all seems so obvious.

When I played in the 80/90s when we attacked the defence stayed on the half way line and we worked out the rest as it went along

Holly knows what style that is called today, but we never bothered with phases, ball recycling, second balls and such ######. I'm not sure if I even played football listening to these young chaps reinvent the game with their bs talk.

If Marti can't sort out this nonsense I assume that ol' useless know nothing dinosaur Warnock will bring some plain speaking to proceedings.

Another issue with styles of play is that the championship has teams with alot of different ways of playing. My opinion was that on Tuesday trying to press high played into hulls hands rather opposite to Blackburn game where I would of pressed high. Easy saying that now I guess but it's such a tough strange league

Marti would have been involved in the players we brought in. Unless most drastically improve he has legitimate questions to answer about the summer recruitment

Granted we actually played very well last night until hull scored but we all know that if we concede early we never look that convincing that we will turn things around. I hope we correct that v derby. I'm looking forward to going.
Any game in this league is winnable rarely you get a team dominating it even when Burnley did we turned them over

Derby I think will be a defeat, we miss Jcs as we need dunne at Rb santos can’t start again or we just asking for trouble

I understand results aren't where they need to be but I agree with every word that comes out of Marti mouth and he gets it. He will resolve our problems because he won't just panic and unlike fans on here he will use common sense and logic to turn our season around. Too many passionate fans getting carried away far too early imo.

Glad to hear its only a localised problem.

I did say we are heading in the right direction generally, just a few areas needing improvement. There is no point panicking and repeating our past mistakes and the same mistakes that so many teams make. We need a clear plan and have to stick to it through the pain. Depressing though it would be I would back the current regime even if we got relegated. Constant short term thinking over many years is what got us into this mess.

I had just hoped after last season we would have a nice uneventful year around the middle of the table. One win in ten suggests otherwise.

Derby, Pompey and Coventry all winnable and we need to shape up and win two of those to steady the ship. Knowing us we will lose all three then win convincingly away to Burnley. Four of our next six games at home. We have been poor at home for a long time now, that needs to change. Ideal opportunity to get some wins on the board and climb the table a bit, no excuses.

Hard to say we’ve got the best manager in the league but we have got the best we have had for a long time I’ll give him that. We need a plan b imo we didn’t play that bad last night but schoolboy errors and Santos is garbage don’t help
