Just waited for over an hour on the phone to buy tickets for the Hull city game, only to be told, "we are experiencing a high number of calls at the moment, please call back later" then they hung up. I can't believe that they treat fans like this, unbelievable.

Isn't this par for the course with all businesses nowadays though? Default approach is that they expect you to buy/book online - anyone who wants to phone is a pest. I'm not condoning it, just seems the way it is.

        Bang on.

I got stranded in Croatia with a cancelled EasyJet flight. Email and text and sort your accommodation and return flight yourself. No telephone numbers offered and all compo claims submitted online without the ability to talk things through. I also had an issue with Booking.com but could only resolve through an Agent Chatbox. When I do speak with customer service agents they normally mess things up! I don't think there's much pride in doing things right these days. Same with trades people.

People in their 70s plus must find the world so daunting and difficult these days. I'm getting that way and I'm in my 50s. Life was so much simpler in the 70/80/90s......I must be getting old...!!

As one who has already reached 70, I can confirm that your feelings are correct. Just have to try to see the funny side of things (when there is one).

Life nowadays is totally frustrating when trying to get anything done.

My Dad (in his 70’s) and myself who is 50 have this conversation on almost a daily basis where services and technology just don’t work. We are becoming right moany old men! But honestly why do you have to jump through hoops to do the simplest of tasks. Technology, Security and Bureaucracy is killing things. And this is progression eh? Give me the 80’s any day of week, deal with an actual person and pay them in cash, job done, happy human.
