SM's post had changed my opinion on GP
Slightly
I still hold fast my opinion on him and his credentials for anything involving serious running issues of OUR club, anyhting involving transfers, Managerial appointments, contracts etc. His track record on those matters speaks for itself plus the "baggage" he is carrying with him from the court case and a no smoke without fire view etc.
HOWEVER - the man retains his obvious ability to be a charmer, a smoothy, a host with the most and seems to be able to convey a warmth for QPR and that "we're really going places". For that reason I feel GP should be retained at the club - what better host for the air kissing and back slapping in C-Club than him?
He would also bring with him past experience of running a very good silver service outfit and could even do a bit of waiter service himself in times of need.
It would seem a lot of the players are warm towards GP (who wouldn't when their contracts are signed off by...............?) so a go between role between squad, higher management and even fans as per SM's visit yesterday could be one of his duties???
I have ALWAYS maintained (win lose or draw) that to have a "former" football agent in charge of a club, a transfer budget and a business with a turnover in excess of £10M is akin to leaving a lion in charge of a herd of antelope.
Football agents make their money by leeching as much as they can from the game, I do not believe poacher can ever turn gamekeeper in this case.
I really hope Amit and his gang can turn this club around and put down some strong foundations. Hopefully we can stay up and a wholesale change of the clubs structure be carriedout from mid-May onwards.
