Trouble is, the promoted teams all struggle and the points required to avoid relegation is laughably low. Luton took the last slot with 26pts ahead of Burnley on 24pts and Sheff Utd on 16pts. Some folks still talk about "reaching 40pts" but those days are long gone. BTW... finally understood why they the teams involved in Europe can't play each other in League Cup. Each Euro round is now spread over two weeks so there simply isn't the space in the calendar to cram the League Cup games in.
The The Champions League is now bizarre.... A league of 38 teams. Its weird how a breakaway "super league" is seen as something evil yet a breakaway super league has evolved in plain sight and nobody bats an eyelid.Comment
