  • Larkeche

The Scottish Sun reports that Larkeche is signing on a season long loan with Dundee. It isn’t surprising - it has been apparent that he is not yet ready for the Championship. A season with regular football rather than the odd cameo apperance might do him a lot of good.

I think a few other players will go on loan as well.

I expect minimum one new left back signing now. If Paal does not sign an extension we might try to offload him before the end of the transfer window. Personalley I would like him to stay and fight for the left back spot with a quicker new signing.

Paal plays like a guy who knows no matter how bad he does he's not getting dropped. Let's hope we sign someone decent who gets a chance and takes it. Paal isn't up to much. Ok but not great.

This must be the end of his QPR career. He's 22 in September - if he's not ready for being a squad member of a Championship club by now it's not worth keeping him. Unlike, other managers we've had recently, Marti does not seem prepared to wait hopefully for weak players in their early 20s to develop into footballers - either attain Marti's standards or find another club it seems.

I’d of thought we got someone in mind to allow us to go to just paal as lb admittedly fox can play their as well

never rated paal crossing is abysmal not great defender imo been better since marti kept him deeper

Do you consider the Watford interest in him BS then? Surely they wouldn't want to pay a fee for the player you describe?

If Watford do want him is he in last yr of contract? if so let him go you must of seen enough of him to see he's limited in terms of ability. Ill give Larkeche his credit he never gave up on a lost cause chased everything down most fans would describe Paal as poor his plus is that is normally fit and will chip in with a goal and to allow one out with Fox fitness and injury issues id imagine we've got interest in another lb

Last couple of seasons we've been poor imo at both lb & rb Cannon is pony and only Dunne looked decent

I can see MC and Nourry doing a fair bit more in and out until deadline day

Under Marti, Paal has been almost ever present in a very strong defence that was one of the best in the league - top 4 if my memory serves me correct. No one in the fourth best back line in the Championship is poor - it is as simple as that. However, that does not hide the fact that Marti might look for an upgrade. No one is questioning Paal technical abilities, but he lacks pace, and is often targeted by the opposition because of this. His crosses are not the best, but that can be said about most players in our squad, except for Chair. I think we can do better than Paal, and I expect us to sign a left back that Nourry and Marti think is better than Paal. I am certain that we are in the process of finding one.

If we get to the end of the transfer window, and a last minute offer comes along for Paal, with a price similar to what we got paid for Ryal Manning in the exact same situation, I don't think we would necessary sell, even though we might see Paal leave for free next summer, even if we have signed a new left back . I think Paal will be give a new LB competition, and be a very good back if.

Apart from that disastrous game where ainsworth played him at right back i have always been quite impressed by Larkeche. I thought he would have been Marti's type of player.

We would miss Paals goals if he were to move on!

I don't get to as many games as I would like and was merely asking a question. I can see where you're coming from and no doubt you've seen him live many many times more than me. I normally get to eight games a season, but due to a change of circumstances, I should double that this season. It's hard to judge a player from TV on times as you can't see the off ball stuff.

I also think Dykes is limited, but the rumours persist about other clubs wanting him. Why escapes me, so perhaps this Blackburn & Rangers stuff is just nonsense?????

I can understand teams taking a punt on Willock & Armstrong? But I really can't see why any club would pay a fee for Paal & Dykes. Im sure we/they could get equal quality elsewhere without a fee. Perhaps they see things I don't????

I'm sure it's Agents feeding these clickbate sites with nonsense about their players.

IMO, Paul decent championship left back. Always fit.

Our valuation of him probably too high as no alternatives. We might have to spend more than we get for him.

Locally pboro flogged Harrison burrows decent player 150 games l1 and season in championship gone to Sheffield utd for 2.5m imo far better player than paal

To my knowledge not sure if we got youth prospect at lb. Also as much as i think paal is no better than ok he’d average 5.5-6 out 10 most weeks keep him a season and go from there

Fair point about keeping him for another season. Little point selling him cheaply unless we can find replacement.
