  • Our performance against top 6 sides

My memory isn't great nowadays so forgive me for any vague or incorrect recollections here but:

Leicester Home - unlucky to lose, were drawing until we went down to 10 men and lost 1-2.
    Leicester Away - Won
Ipswich Home - Seem to recall we played well but lost 0-1
Ipswich Away - Good away draw
Leeds Away- Lost 1-0 but had Bego sent off late on when Leeds cheated to stop our push for an equaliser.
    Leeds Home - 4-0 win
Southampton - we lost both of these by 1 goal but I can't seem to recall much more than that.
    Norwich Home - Draw
    Norwich Away - lost 0-1
WBA Home - 2-2 but that handball on the goal line cost us the win.
WBA Away - were drawing until went down to 10 men and lost 0-2

Long story short but the only game against those 6 sides that we lost by more than one goal was when down to 10 men. If we can figure out how to play the weaker teams we'd be sorted.

So we won two out of 12. That's pretty rubbish really.

Next season we must do better at home and keep the goal difference positive, even just +1 GD would mean we'd be in top half and within spitting distance of playoffs.

I feel we dropped too many points to teams in our mini-league this season. I think improving against bottom 6 ought to be an easier task than improving against top 6. But, there's no reason we can't play ANY team and expect to win and your analysis does kinda show that.

When you put it like that, yes perhaps it is.
