  • Run In

Well down to the last four games, all to teams in the top ten so potentially difficult when compared to some of our rivals run ins.

We need to scrape I think say four points to guarantee safety as those below us will pick up points if for no other reason than they have games against each other so by definition some will get points.

There are though some reasons for optimism. We start with a four point cushion. Form wise we are top of our mini league and sixth overall in division over the last ten games.

Hull have drawn three and lost one of their last four homes and we have good away form.

Preston on decent form overall but have dropped points in two of their last four away games.

Coventry again on decent form but have won two and lost two of their last four home games.

Leeds have stumbled a little and dropped points in three of their last five away games.

The above suggests to me that whilst they are all tough games I wouldn't rule us out of getting something out of any of them. This leads me onto the next point which is the current form in the mini league over the last six games. We are 2-2-2. Stoke are the same and the rest are worse with Millwall the only other team to have won two of them, the rest have won just one each. Our rivals are not in good form at present. All have shown signs at some stage this season of getting themselves out of trouble only to fall back and most are suffering a lull. We just need two of those to join Rotherham and there are seven below us along with Swansea just above us on goal difference in the mix.

We are in danger again following the disappointing last couple of games but I would rather be us than some of the others around us.

Preston are home to Norwich and away to Southampton before ys. They are currenyly five points behind Norwich and if they fail to beat them Sat they will be as good as out of the play offs. Between those two games I think their season will be over by the time they come to HQ with nothing to play for.

Coventry are also five points off the play offs and come the last game of the season I reckon their play off chances will be over.

Current form for Preston and Coventry doesnt count for anything if their promotion chances have ended before playing us. They may even throw a few kids in to cut their teeth when they play us.

I'm hoping Cardiff will beat Brum tonight.

We're basically ahead by five points with our goal difference. One win will be enough to stay up. We'll get a draw away to Hull and beat Preston. There will be points up for grabs at Coventry too.

    We're nearly there! Stay calm....

I'd like us to not need to beat Leeds too as I'd rather they not be in our division next year tbh.

We need a Cardiff goal. Sad it's got to this state
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Great night for us with Brum, Stoke and Blackburn losing. Big games next:

                Plymouth v Leicester
                Leeds v Blackburn
                Brum v Coventry
                Bristol City v Huddersfield
                Sheffirld Wed v Stoke

Teams already below us will drop points this coming weekend. A draw away to Hull will do nicely.

Those behind us need effectively to win 2 games more than us, can't see it happening. We have another win in us for sure.

I don't have your confidence at all hence why I'm celebrating other results. This has a bit of Beale about it, go on an amazing run of games and then can't buy a goal

This sqaud do this, we've struggled for regular goals since Charlie / Warbs. We seem to find a way of getting Chair and Willock to fire, then they either get bored or forget.

Results last night add an extra point to our tally really. 50 will be enough now, I would not bank on a draw.

                        Brum must be bricking it.

                          I agree.

With our goal difference over Hudderfield and Wed if we lose all our remaining games they would need to claw back five points on us. That's two wins or one win & two draw from 4 games.

There nothing in our performances to suggest we're not capable of at least two draws against Preston / Coventry, or even one win.

With two draws Huddersfield/Wed need to gain seven points over four games to get passed us. That is highly unlikely.

Last night massive for us. Lot of people expected Brum to get something out of that game. Like various other teams down the bottom hoping for new manager bounce to see them over the line. Have had one win under Rowett but that aside losing week in and week out. They have another tough home game next and if they lose that struggle to see them catching us. Wednesday decent last couple of games but prior to that were on mini slump. I would though expect them to get something against Stoke and most likely three points which means we need something against Hull to keep reasonably ahead of them. Tough away game next for Huddersfield and they are on a poor run. Their last two home games are Swansea and Brum though which are both winnable.

Blackburn a strange one. Fantastic win at Sunderland followed I think by decent home draw and then thumped last night.

I expect three points will be enough, four would be almost certain. Our form over last 10 games is 5-3-2. Surely over four games we can get a win and a draw.

Under Marti, our worst 4-game haul was 1 point. That was a bit of a blip and generally he's better than that. I posted months ago that any team that goes 3+ games without a win will slide down the table and I reckon that still applies. I think the form book is out of the window now for all teams and all games. Skill, flair and ability are taking a back-seat to mental strength, character and spirit. Who's got the biggest balls basically.
