GA stated whatever happens we will be staying within FFP.

If this was likely I dont think we'd have gone to the expense of changing managers or signing the players we did in the summer.

Also, I thought the only reason the owners havent spent big is because of FFP. If we were going to breach this season, then surely spend big to make sure we hit 60 pts and can absorb the 10 points, or dont invest in the summer. If we are going down we might as well sell any player of value this window.

We need a manager who knows L1 - who can that be....!!!

we were very well run for years under Jim Gregory and for a short while after and suspect we punched above our weight for a long time. In reality Championship/L1 may be more our level. We had a false dawn for a while under Briatore and then Fernandes but in reality most of our seasons in the Championship we have been average or poor and we are lucky to have only been relegated once to L1 in that time. We badly need a reset regardless of what division we are in.

Doesn't the badge say 1882? It's somewhat selective to ignore about 90years of our history in your calcs.

I'd say EVERYTHING about us is third tier - you might be able to make an argument that we are technically 42nd in the pecking order of league clubs and that means bottom bit of 2nd tier but that's just boils down to splitting hairs about are we "bigger" than Reading or Portsmouth or Bolton or suchlike.

We were in the right place at the right time in terms of Premier League's inception but we blew our moment big time. It's not just us either - I'm pretty sure over 50 teams have played in the Prem. It's kind of like every dog has it's day. It's all cyclical and I'm sure we'll come again one day but whether that's in 3 years, 10years, 25 years well who knows?

Its not ignoring the previous 90 years but football was structured completely differently before the war and yes we can go back to jumpers for goalposts if it suits the narrative.

We are not bigger than Bolton or Portsmouth - since football has been about money you are right we have missed the boat and our chance has probably been and gone.

getting relegated the first time from the premier league just as the TV money started to kick in was a big thing. Followed by years of mismanagement.

there are massive teams - historically who have been out of the top flight for years - the likes of Sheff Weds - Bolton -derby - Forest and smaller teams with less top flight history but better run, Brentford, Bournemouth Brighton etc have taken their place - sadly we were unable to follow the laters model.

If we are to go down at best we will become a club similar to the likes of Peterborough - Wycombe - Rotherham - who yo- yo between div 1 and the championship and and at worst a reading or Wigan who could drop down again. and the nightmare scenario is a yeovil who 10 years ago where in the championship and now play in the 6th tier national league south!

Our finances are constantly monitored by the EFL, and if there is any issues, we would soon know about it, we'd already be under a soft embargo by now.

The EFL would usually charge the club with breaching FFP, and the matter would likely be referred to an independent commission, it would be for the commission themselves to decide what the appropriate sanction would be, not the EFL themselves.

I thought it was said at the time that the FFP fine wouldn't come from club funds but the owners would be fronting it? But now it seems we are no longer paying it, so why they do all these stand, stadium and training ground sponsorships? Plus spend money on sacking Ainsworth and hiring Marti. If this is true then the owners are ####ing the club over massively.

Not disbelieving Austin but his contact gave us Ings is signing & other stories that haven’t materialised yet, hope he is wrong but we will find out sooner or later if there is any deduction

Does this mean we won't be signing Danny ings on loan then.

Club informed staff to spread rumours about points deduction so we can get some decent loans from Premier for cheap? Ok maybe this is wishful thinking

Theres a two points I want to make.

                          1. Important to remember that our fine does not count towards our FFP, we pay a £17m fine spread over 10 years and its interest free, so that works out at £1.7m per year, so since we were fined in 2018, we have paid roughtly half of it off by now, and the club formally finishes paying it off in 2028.

                          2. If we were to breach FFP, then the EFL would have to formally charge the club, and we'd already be under a soft embargo, which would limit our transfers.

                              Again you’re talking bs !!

the point deduction isn’t because we have breached ffp !!

it’s because we haven’t paid the ffp fine we got on time not Because we have breached ffp

again because your slow the points is because we breached ffp few years ago and got a massive fine !! We have either missed the deadline or not fully paid it back in time and in that agreement if it wasn’t paid by set time we would get a points deduction.
Please stop putting your 2 pence in about ffp we haven’t branched this atm this is from an old ffp breach . Jesus Christ I actually give up
