Well Im sure hes still good enough for this league. The fact he hasnt signed must mean we're maxed out on our weekly budget. We need to sell Chair or move some players out on loan to free up the budget.

Come end Jan I don't see us picking many points up if chair and co are out

The even bigger issue is sell Chair or Willock id say that will be to much to replace when both turn up they are as good as anyone in our league sadly mark them out the game are were hopeless

If that magical £6m appears for Chair we might have a chance with some very expensive prem loans. But I think thst £6m is all paper talk. Even at £3m I fear it wont be enough to invest in this squad.

wait til deadline day and we've had it, even more worrying is Coventry fancy the guy from Notts county and a possible deal for Matty Godden he's 32 other lad 26 we have to start getting some legs in this side
If we were to sell 1 id lose Field 1st he's a workhorse that over worked but will never create anything

We won't get a striker. Everyone needs a striker, everyone wants a striker. Arsenal and Chelsea are screaming for a striker.... what chance is there of us beating 40-odd other clubs to the punch and landing a lethal/potent finisher?
I like Smyth but he only seems to have 45mins in his legs. If we could find a genuine left winger to give us attacking options down either flank and take some burden off Smyth that'd be good. Might then able to deploy Chair more centrally offensive as opposed to farting about out wide too much.
Ultimately I'd be staggered if we managed to get a single new face in - I think Marti is gonna have to play the hand he's holding, no more "twisting" I'm afraid.

We'll be very lucky to land a striker, I'd like a loanee, no chance at all of a permanent unless we've found the next Austin hiding in non league.
it's absoluetly our midfield that's a non negotiable. We have to sort it, personality, grit, drive and intelligence, in all positions in the middle and wide spots are needed.

Its debatable whether we should have kept Gareth and used that money in Jan. But we had the new manager bounce and those three wins werent likely under GA. Without those nine points we'd already be buried, but at least now we wont be buried until early Feb.

I think Amit recruited GA and he was the front during the announcement interview with Ruban. As a Bhatia hire I suspect they took the wrap and did the naming to bring in cash to pay off GA and bring in MC. Its my guess that money came in and went straight out. Nadda left for this window.

Realistically best chance we have is sell Chair if we can get around the £6m previously mooted which I don't think is unreasonable. A chunk of that will be kept back but if a little of that can be released and Marti works some magic then along with anything else that can be scraped together could bring in a couple of cheap permanents and a couple of half decent loans. That might give us a fighting chance.
However the last time we were consistently good was our last three seasons in L1 and perhaps a complete reset would be best long term. I am sick to death of our being carp year on year. It is downright depressing. Last three seasons we have been awful save for a couple of bright spells which I think gave us all false hope. We need a clear out and to set the team up in a different way. I think Marti can do that but will need time and backing to do it.

I reckon we'd be in there at least 2 seasons due to some of clear out required
We need a proper scout and dof with the ability to pull a few strings that position needs sorting as Hoos is inept imo to do that job

I think the naming rights are more about passing FFP/FSR test than about making new signings - There's a 5-year contract sitting there waiting for Sincs to sign, Dykes signed his plus we bought likes of Cook in and paid off two managers in 2022.....
Can't see anyone buying Eze this window either - he's too much of a sick note and is out too often. Think he'll need to show a solid half-season of injury free performances before anyone parts with the big bucks Palace will want.

Coaching, scouting system needs complete overhaul. Lack of players coming through last few decades has been appalling and the way so many players join and then seem to go backwards. Training facility will help but something fundamentally wrong behind the scenes and has been for a long time, predating current club ownership even. DOF would be ideal but if Marti given free reign on transfers in my view that can wait a while.
