I’m with isleworth here it’s a player problem. They seem to have so much influence in clubs these days without redress. And we’ve seen it many times before. Tbh we keep grabbing at straws every week because we are supporters and hope for a change but fundamentally although we do lack quality in some areas the desire to win seems to disappear all too soon and it’s difficult to accept. Play your best side every game. Play hard for 90 minutes. Be QPR and proud. Then pick up your wages. Piece of cake

It's getting a bit concerning regarding Marti. I think everyone was getting really excited, Romford match reports were heaped in praise and even the losses many saw more exciting football. They stick to those opinions because they only look to blame the players but unfortunately there is a little more substance than just that. I always judge a manager when thing aren't going to well, when results start going the other way. How's he going to change it up, who's he going to drop. Yes we can certainly argue that we don't have a squad good enough for this division but you still hope the manager finds a refreshing way to mix things up. Listening to his interviews all that excitement has gone and he is now sounding like that broken record that keeps repeating itself. We have to give him Jan and the owners have no choice but to back him. I think he will have to look at the scandanivian market because we won't have the pull of bringing in decent exciting young premier league players but I hope his contacts help him get out of this hole. New manager syndrome has left us so it's vital he can bring in some improvement in player personal. Fingers crossed we give it a go because otherwise march we could be too far set adrift which will be a very sad and worrying day for all of us.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Agree with all except the broken record. I think these are honest assessments he's giving, what he's struggling with is squad depth, quality and energy, we just don't have it. On our day a best QPR first 11 can beat anyone in this league, we just don't have enough good days when that first 11 is firing. I'd say Marti is getting frustrated and worried that he can't play the way he wants to, and he's also coming to the realisation (i hope) that certain players aren't as good as they seem on the training pitch, or good enough on match day consistently.

We need loan signings in Jan and plenty of them. I don't think we will see many, if any permanent signings of any real note unless a cheap, known gem comes up. It's about survival. under GA i would have preferred to go down and have a full reset, it was desparately poor. Under Marti I feel there is enough there to pull us up by our boot straps given time and an overhaul of the squad.

Need the experienced heads Cook and Colback to play regularly and demonstrate proper leadership

          I’m afraid the following are simply not good enough;

          Kakay
          Dunne
          Dozzell
          Kelman
          Armstrong

Dykes and Smythe need to step up and real quick - they are both internationals

Chair needs to become a team player

Willock needs to show consistency and look more interested

We need to scrape some results and hope Marti is backed and can bring in 4 or 5 new players

I went to the Plymouth, Southampton and Millwall games - we could have played all day/night and not scored. We need to show more urgency and intensity. Our decision making, particularly Chair needs to improve.

The problem with the Scandinavian market is that it is very expensive. A lot of European clubs are looking for the next Haaland or Odegaard. Young players with ten first team games (in leagues that aren't much better than the Scottish PL) are going for £2m to £4m, often picked up by Dutch, Belgian, Italian, Spanish, French and German clubs. The best young Scandinavian strikers sell for £10m. Even decent 30+ years old players end up in China or the new Arab leagues for £1-2m.

I think we will end up with only loans, primarily from Premier League and the Championship. But I think we are dependent on selling first, even if we just aim for loans or free signings. It does not have to do with "owner backing" or any lack of it. It has to do with FFP constraints.

Hopefully, we can get £6m for Chair and reinvest this wisely. He is our best player, but I think we are better off selling him and bringing in 3 or 4 players that will strengthen the first 11. This has to include a seasoned midfielder and a hungry striker and a cheaper replacement for Chair.

I hope we can send Richards, Armstrong, Kelman, Duke-McKenna and Drewe on loan to free up some resources (and possibly help develop the first two mentioned - the others will be gone by the end of season anyway). Even if we can recover just a tiny fraction of the salary of Richards, it makes sense!

I was hoping that Willock would sign a new deal, as Martis style of play seems to suit him. But when he withdrew from the squad last minute on Tuesday I took it as a sign that he is on the way out (concerned of any last minute injury that will damage a move). Hopefully that will also free up some resources for new signings.

              An as always, considered post.

I'd love for Chair to be a less selfish, more blinkered player. Wether or not he thinks there are no outlets other than him i don't know. At times he and Willock have linked up so well, others it just doesn't happen.

I'd love Willock to stay, he's a better player than Chair, he's just not consistent or as robust. But it seems we are destined to lose at least 1 soon. Willock being my bet, for not much money, up north.

Is that going to be better? Having 1 number 10 in Chair? If he's paired with a better striker and better wingers/full backs and deployed more centrally, just off the striker does that make for a better sqaud make up? It seems to me the only time we've played really well over the last 12 months is with 2 number 10's on the pitch.

The Players cant seem to do the simple things. They shuld be taking this opportunity with thenew Manager but theyarnt none of them..
Chair and Willock need to be more of a team player.
Kakay, Dunne, Dozzell play within your limitations
Armstrong out on loan (Like Les)
                Kelman not sure

Most of the players sadly in the first team squad lack the basic skills required to be a pro

most can't pass, lack the basic defensive skills to be a defender ie positional sense marking and when to clear lines

Even better players can't cross a non moving ball from set play, yes if you pay for better players they have. obviously a higher ability but imo the likes of Kakay Kelman will never have the ability to to play at this level regardless of who's in charge they aint good enough.

I know Lyndon tries his hardest can't knock him for that and we create next to sod all but both him and SA as main strikers are the worst pair in this division.

The Jan window is key to keeping us up and the summer window key to long term development and progress of the club we have to make the right decisions in terms of both type of player signed and if they can play the way MC wants us to play, and that includes development squad players they need to be groomed in the same style so they can step up

If we find a diamond or two then we have to accept were a stepping stone in their careers but we need a hell of a lot more quality in the squad than we have at present.

Palace hsve been linked with Armstrong.

If they offered £2m and a 20% sell on clause would that be good business?

I would say yes as we need quality now not in 5yrs.

Perhaps we could get a few players on loan as part of a deal too?

At theis stage that would be a baning deal. Maybe we end up kicking ourselves but i'd take that for sure.

Players should only be paid a basic and only get the rest on performance if they win they get x amount and a lower amount for a draw, not get top wages what ever the result, where they have the club over a barrel.

That was the way they got paid over 20 to 30 years ago, they would soon up their performance if their wives are on their back if they are only bringing home the basic wage.

Regarding Armstrong: I do not trust trust any media articles claiming Palace and Celtic are after him. I think that is made up by his agent.

Anyone who's scouted Armstrong will work out he's not worth a great deal as fast as he is he's got a shite touch can't really pass and lacks a killer instinct

Very sorry to hear that Oslo, that feels like a real kick in the teeth because I felt like using that connection would give our club a massive advantage but I didn't realise how extortionate prices would be in those leagues

If we can get M. Langstaff and Wells in I would be satisfied for now. Not any resale value as far as Wells is concerned, but he is an intelligent player and his legs will hopefully last a few months more.
