I can only assume Mowbray knows him from Ipswich days

Personally I think he's pony sadly he's still better than other options at the club but overall a bloody awful signing

    • Will drive Dozzell to Birmingham tomorrow and not even charge him the petrol money. Having said that, knowing our luck he'll go there and be the second coming of Taarabt

      • The 24-year-old has 2 goals and an assist to his name and looks forward to create chances when he has the ball.
In Tony Mowbray’s first two games as Blues manager, it seems that he wants his centre midfielders to think quickly and get the ball forward,
Dozzell could potentially be the answer.
don't say a word, in case they change their mind.

        • Tell them that Richards is the championships answer to David silva and he can go with dozzell but we can't stand in his way of his desire to get his dream move to real Madrid. Birmingham will be a stepping stone to him getting back to man city and then heading off to Spain to dominate and take the spotlight off of belingham..

          • Hopefully this will come off. Fair play to Dozzell for keeping fit and making himself available for selection during his time with us but just hasn't worked out in the main. Maybe Birmingham will suit him better.

Getting his wages off our salary bill, even forgetting any loan fee, will be huge and if we are allowed to spend it could get a couple of loans in. We will see.

            • Dozzell has been consistently selected by all five managers he has played for during his time at QPR - Warburton, Beale, Critchley, Ainsworth and Cifuentes. Tony Mowbray is one of the best and most experienced manager in the Championship. If his first signing for B'ham turns out to be Dozzell, it adds to a list of managers that rate Dozzell.

I think many fans are too critical of Dozzell. He has some limitations, but he is definitely better than many give him credit for. I refuse to accept that all these six managers are clueless and we as fans are much more knowledgeable about football.

Half Dozzell issues are he always looks lazy and knackered, his limitations are lacks pace the ability to open up a defence score goals from midfield but that applies to the rest of midfield

I'll give him credit where its due he's a better crosser of a ball than paal who's possibly worse than an under 9 he's shat at them

We all know we need better than what we have and if he goes to free up a better option so be it

He's been a better servant than Richards

                • It will be interesting to see of a possible loan deal for Dozzell is only made to free up costs to stay inside the FFP limits, or if it is part of a squad remake where it frees up funds for a more needed loan signing such as Tim Iroegbunam.

Depending on what source you trust the most, Dozzell is paid anything from £11k to £13k a week. If he is paid £12k, and a loan deal technically lasts until 30 June, we will free up around £250k in salaries. On top of that, we might cash in a loan fee of similar level, so all in all up to £500k if we are lucky. Dozzell contract ends on 30 June, but we have an option to extend by one year. Transfermarkt values him at £1.2m. I would not rule out QPR is trying to convince B'ham to go for a straight acquisition rather than a loan deal.

                  • Looks like we could have room now to make one or two loan signings.

Marti I think has talked about us being creative this month, it seems like the board might have answered his plea.

                    Question is who now comes?

                    • Well this will prove at least a small point.

                      • Bad bit of business! I don't wish to comment on his personal appearance but I think folks will know what I mean when I say he "looks" slow and lightweight. However, I don't feel this is the case at all - I think he's a robust, intelligent and tidy player. Never injured, never blowing out his ass after 75 mins, seldom booked (unlike Field and Colback with their ludicrous lunges or Chair with his petulant swings) and just gets on with his business in a team that has collectively failed.
This puts a lot of pressure on Dixon-Bonner to step-up and play a lot of games unless we bring in a midfielder who will have to be better than Dozzell.

                        • I respect Mowbrays opinion. Doz works very hard and I rate as a much better player than most seem to think. Problem for us is our midfield has no balance and no scorers. I’m worried though it leaves us light with field and colback both heading for another suspension. I think this must be a money driven move but let’s hope it frees up money for a replacement from the magic pot rather than just to stay ffp compliant

                          • Dozzell has alot of potential but I always felt where does he play. He has good technique with ball but lacks concentration defensively, he can find a forward pass but lacks pace and stamina to get up pitch offensively. We need Tim from the villa back

Well you're right on his robusteness, but i'd argue that's because he does very little. He might be smart but he lacks composure.

He's had a handful of good moments but otherwise been ineffective. Deployed in a different team, maybe he'll be a different player.
