Millwall offered us £3m for Dykes last Jan and if that offer is repeated I would sell him.
Great to see Willock back but offered very little but lets put that down to being rusty. Richards seems a baller when he came on, but again it will take time for him to get into his stride.
For all Smyth's effort his final ball is just shocking. When he beats his man theres no look up to see who he can pick out. Its just an aimless cross. Even with a winger who can pick out an attacker, most teams have dropped traditional wingers because crosses rarely lead to goals due to dominant CBs. Smyth must learn to cut inside and lay off a proper pass.
I thought Kakay had a solid game as did the rest of the defence.
Im just amazed that none of our players took on Dickie for pace. When they pressed high it just needed a couple of cross field balls into space. Armstrong would have breezed passed him.
Still a huge amount of work to be done, but unless MC can turn LD and SA into goalscorers in the next two weeks its going to be a long Nov and Dec until the window opens. Right now its going to be a struggle to get out of the bottom three.

Dykes is so simple and I don't know why coaches don't figure it out.
He works hard but cannot play by himself, with a partner he will deliver enough to justifyu a spot/ If you can't give him a partner, don't start him. His work rate will make him look useful enough, but there's not enough class or ability to overcome being a lone striker. We've seen once, once only during a period Warbs played him and charlie together and he was a different player.
We absolutely need another striker. We also need someone else to build on midfield options, unless DB is stepping up.
We also need to onvest in some anger management so players stop getting stupidly booked.

Honestly Dykes is just a extremely poor player, barely second division standard.
The manager has steadied the team and now needs to get a goal scorer in January.
Lots of positives today with the main one being Willock, his best game for a long time, Smyth gave their fullback a torrid time and hopefully coaches can help his final decision making.
Only negatives apart from Dykes was Colback who did very little and Kakay who is not very good.
Many positives today but lack of a goal scorer is a huge concern.
Agree with most of what you say but i thought Kakay was'nt too bad today , that attempt at a cross near the end was diabolical though , Cannon will surely be ahead of him anyway .
Colback was poor first 20 but improved after that , a big problem for us is a lack of pace and energy in midfield with Dozzel , Colback and Field .
We never looked like scoring and created little but with Chair back and Willocks fitness improving and hopefully signing a striker in Jan , even a Prem youngster on loan will surely be better than Dykes , signs are looking up.

look what he does for Scotland, they get players around him and let him bring them into play. I agree couldn’t finish his dinner but I think he will grow into this system

His work rate you can't fault but he's not going to get many goals heskey scored over 100 in prem ok he got better service
In his defence our crossing from a ball not moving is pathetic
To stay up we need a cf early Jan not deadline day

First half was quite precise and planned, we were on top but it was all a bit low key.
However with Dykes up front what can u do, he never moves, makes runs, hold onto the ball , literally a waste of a shirt, pleased with our shape and a lot of our play, however goal scoring chances still very much at a premium.
Still hopeful things will pickup, but you can’t polish a turd and we still have a few of themLast edited by Romford Hoop; 11-11-2023, 10:11 PM.

Romford I wasn't at the game so thanks for the notes but were you happy with the 1st half? I don't want to be pedantic with stats but we had 1 shot at goal in the 1st 45mins? Don't get me wrong I like possession football but that's awful. We need to play for 90 not 45
