I'd say warnock must have turned us down or something has gone wrong in negotiations. Giving it to this Spanish lad will either be a stroke of genius or yet another mammoth balls up by our so called board who yet to get anything right in their time at Hq. Hope it works out for Marti or he will be getting the fright of his life swapping Sweden for a long trip to the #### end of Carlisle.

Not yet but I'd be surprised its not Marti now. Shame as I really wanted warnock. He was the best candidate to get us out of this mess. Saturday is huge. The pressure on us to get a least a point is huge already and we are putting all our hopes on a complete novice.

Hope it works out with him if appointed would have preferred someone with good championship experience.

Let's hope that we get a decent buy out clause put in as he doesn't seem to stick anywhere to long. Hope it's not another beale situation again.

QPR are delighted to announce the appointment of Martí Cifuentes as the club’s new head coach.

The 41-year-old Spaniard arrives from Swedish top-flight side Hammarby, where he has been for the past two years.

QPR CEO Lee Hoos said: “We are delighted to bring Martí in and I would firstly like to thank Hammarby for being fantastic to deal with throughout the process.

“Martí is an exciting appointment and we look forward to seeing the impact he can have.

“Having a succession plan in place is a necessary part of football, irrespective of how the team are performing.

“Martí is someone we have been aware of so we are really pleased to have been able to secure his services.”

Cifuentes, who has previously coached in the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, took control of his last fixture for Hammarby this evening (Monday).

He will arrive in London on Tuesday when he will conduct his first interview with club channels.

This appointment is subject to a work permit.

You hope he brings some new manager bounce with him, but all sounds all very underwhelming.
Can't see the players uping their game for this appointment.

Why does our new manager HAVE to have Championship experience? Been plenty of managers past and present who never managed in the Championship and done well.

Leicester manager doing alright ain't he? McKenna at Ipswich, Farke previously at Norwich, Martin relatively inexperienced, Bulut at Cardiff, Corberan at WBA, Rosenior at Hull. The list goes on. It's nonsense.

Potter come from Swedish leagues. This lad managed Hammarby in Europe but hasn't got the experience to deal with the Championship!

Hey it's something a little different, f%ck it, why not?

I like the idea, and he's clearly been sounded out before this week so it's not knee jerk.
