This "top of the league" thing irks me. I don't think his record was anything special: look at his results, they're okay but look at the sequences and opposition - nothing that stands out. Maybe a couple of excellent results but there are just as many really duff results (even before the wheels fell off at the end). After a month-long purple patch we went top in a relatively early iteration of the table following our win against a derisory 10-man Cardiff outfit. That turned out to be as good as it got really.
Blackburn away LOST 1-0
Boro Home WON 3-2
Charlton away League Cup LOST on pens
Sunderland away DRAW 2-2
Blackpool Home LOST 0-1
Rotherham Home DRAW 1-1
Watford away WON 2-3
Hull Home WON 3-1
Swansea away LOST 1-0
Millwall away WON 0-2
Stoke home DRAW 0-0
Bristol C away WON 1-2
Sheffield U away WON 0-1
Reading home WON 2-1
Luton away LOST 3-1
Cardiff home WON 3-0
Wigan home WON 2-1
Birmingham away LOST 2-0
Norwich away DRAW 0-0
WBA home LOST 0-1
Huddersfield home LOST 1-2
Coventry away LOST 2-0
Ultimately, he wasn't here long enough to make a definitive judgement but I think people are over-reaching somewhat if they try to suggest we had a gem. With home defeats against very mediocre teams like Huddersfield and Blackpool plus home draws with Rotherham and Stoke you could argue that the seeds of our current diabolical home record were sown on Beale's watch.
Beale kept us up last season with them wins and reading loosing points
Ainsworth didn’t do enough to keep us up he had points on the board already ,
this season will prove it

Beale will need a good couple of years probably at this level to rebuild his reputation. Someone who fails in Scotland doesn't get a big opportunity for a while again if ever. Lost all the important matches last season and when sacked this season was third in a two horse race and absolutely obliterated in Europe in an embarrassing fashion. Two to three good months at this level at the beginning of last season is not enough to ignore that.
With all the hype he seems to generate I expect he will get a chance again in the Championship. Ignoring any bias I haven't got a clue if he will be any good long term as a manager. Started great with us but then went on a slump and we never had the chance to see if he had the ability to pull us out of that.

In hindsight we were playing good football and creating chances when he was here even when we lost games.Think the run at the end he had when we lost 4 on the trot was a little bit down to is he staying or going. You could not blame him for taking the Rangers job,it was his dream job.If he’d stuck around for another 2 games and we’d lost whose to say with our record of sacking managers he would have been gone anyway.Yes he went about everything the wrong way with the loyalty talk etc.Watching the shite we have to watch now I would take him back, and of course we know he would leave again, but hopefully he would do a 3 year stint and stick to it unless he got the sack.I personally don’t see it happening though.

Neil Lennon hac four very succesful seasons at Celtic and his next job was getting the sack at Bolton who eventually went down to L1.
Success in Scotland doesnt get you too far, let alone failure like Beale. Hes already failed to land the Sheff Wed job.
Come back to us - he'd shoukd be so lucky. Get yourself down to L1 and learn your trade properly.
