We are in the situation of because of how badly this club has been run for the last 5 years or more. I couldn't disagree with your point anymore if I tried. I apologise but Tony Fernandes is the worst owner in the history of our club. He has done more damage then any other owner in history. Yes Tony isn't here anymore but owners are the reason we are in this mess.
We are not in this mess because of Gareth Ainsworth. We are not in this mess because Beale left us and we are not in this mess coz of Critchley being hired or fired. This squad is worse than league 2 and the fault solely is to be blamed on the owners and more specifically, Tony Fernandes
Fernandes couldn't run a bath t@sser being massaged in meeting sums his business brain up
How much money did we waste on a washed up Austin? Hendricks......Steff, so much dross for top dollar even in the championship. All brought in on the assumption we'd have players that others would want to balance the books. These sales never materialised so these signings were gambling with our furure. You sell high and then reinvest!
The club's strategy was to develop players to sell and we need to bring in at least £10m a year to stand stand a chance with our spending. Only Eze hss come off and the remainder have gone for peanuts
Don't think anyone would argue the club is in a mess and the largest blame for that is with the ownership. However we are where we are and can but hope when we do appoint a new DoF they can lead us in a new direction, albeit there is no easy or quick fix. Question at the moment is if there is any point in replacing GA or is this simply a very poor group of players and no matter who is manager we are deep in the brown stuff? Wish I knew the answer.
One shot on target is a very depressing statistic.
Why is Willock not giving a sh? Is he still brooding over Beale leaving? Can't be that right? What is the problem there? GA is not playing a good game but he's been dealt a rubbish hand, Willock, arguably our best player in the past won't turn up, Chair, a world cup semi finalist (sort of) seems lost, Richards is earning more than anyone and sadly for him has medical issues, Dykes can't play for club and country yet he's our only Championship quality striker and even then he's more of a Heskey type hold up striker than a finisher. How much of this is down to bad management is tricky to say but clearly some of it is beyond his control. That starting 11 today was shocking.
After hearing GA post match interview I more convinced than ever that he needs to go. I've not suggested this previously only that he's not good enough for this level. But for him to come out and say we were all over them after the first 20 mins - we weren't, we were the aggressors and should have won - we weren't, we nearly overturned a 2 nil deficit - we weren't even close as we didn't even get back to level pegging. What world is he living in?
Then he comes out and says roll on the rest of the season and how we are staying up!!! Give it up Gareth. You have no idea who your best 11 is, you pick players who are past - Albert- it or league 1 standard constantly - dozzell , kakay, you have made our best player go backwards and a shadow of himself -chair, ostracised our 2nd best player - willock - and puts on kids and league 2 standard players - kohli, smyth instead when we need quality not unproven potential.
He has lost the plot. If he stays the home crowd will turn on him and attendances will drop until he's gone.
The best thing he should do is resign, acknowledge its not working out and keep his reputation and good standing amongst the fans intact. Instead he will be remembered as a good bloke, cracking player, shockingly bad manager.

Someone mentioned on here that Willock was asked to take long throws into the box and refused. He chalenged GA's style and hasnt started since. Might have been made up BS and coukd be that we activated the extension in the summer but he wants away.
Whatever the reason GA needs to find a way to get him going or ship him out in Jan.

Board strategic failure!
I'm not so sure the strategy itself was a failure, but that it was its implementation where it all came unstuck..
Who was responsible for finding suitable players, signing and developing them? I'm disinclined to take the view that the board have the skills to recognise potential signings. They had to depend on others.

Others that they recruited to implement their strategy....
I haven't thought we should sack GA until this line in the latest post game interview.
It shows to me that he doesn't think he can keep us up and should go as a result.
“Roll on the season because it’s going to be a good one. I’m pretty sure we’re going to finish above that line.”

Yes, he needs to MANAGE him!! Willock obvs has a problem and you can either bench him or MANAGE him. GA is the Manager right?

Why would he resign when a sacking comes with a payoff? In what other job does being rubbish in your job get you a pay out?
If he resigns it will in the best interests of the club..he could leave with some dignity instead of being sacked and the fans calling for his head in the next match. It will get ugly quickly and all cos the owners are sitting on their hands yet again.

Most managers eventually leave due to player power.
He will either get them going or they'll get him sacked. If we csnt beat Huddersfield away then what chance WBA, or home to Leicester?
Whether its players downing tools or too many weak links, I cant see him lasting these two games. There may be many reasons for where we are, but the decision will be driven by the points on the board.
Some posters were aaying hed be gone by the end of Sept and we"re not far off Nov!
