I wanted him gone after the first game of the season. To his credit things improved slightly, especially away. We have been unlucky in some cases. I was undecided after last weeks performance and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but he's got to go after that today.
Tactically we're dreadful! I expected a reaction after half time. Nothing! I then expected GA to act, nothing again! It was a matter of time until the 3rd goal. We looked like we had 10 men. Still nothing at 3-0, then it was 4! The man changes nothing, he just stands on the touchline.
Give me a pre season with these boys were his words. They'll give everything and crawl off that pitch. I've seen more effort in an under 10s game than that today. Don't get me wrong GA has been thrown under the bus with this lot as his squad but we need to act because there's not a hope we stay up with him in charge. We need to give someone else a go in the hope they can find an answer. Ainsworth is probably the worst manager I've ever seen at Rangers in terms of tactics. It's unbelievably basic!

Thing is, do we look like an "Ainsworth" side?
I was not supportive of his appointment, didn't think there was much evidence of coaching/tactical nous on his CV so I was baffled at why many folks were agitating for him to replace Critchley. But, when he came in I assumed he'd bring some spirit, grit, determination, graft, fight and belligerence to the team. These are qualities that can take an average team a long way in my view. I therefore decided to keep an open mind and back him.
Today, was a disgrace on all fronts. A meek spineless inept capitulation. If there's no fight in the team I don't see what the point of Gareth is: he's not delivering the one thing he's capable of.
I would ask him to negotiate a termination package tonight.

I've backed Gareth up to this point purely because we have had little choice in the matter because of the finances - you have to get behind what you have if it's all you have. I've suspected relegation is the likely outcome for us this season but hoped that we could possibly pull clear, probably relying largely on there being worse teams than us, or, if we do go down, we go down fighting. The last few games have shown pretty plainly that there is no will to fight and that there is something very rotten at the core of the club that is in addition to the financial restrictions. Gareth plainly can't fix that - whatever it is. We may not have a strong enough squad to stay up but we do have a strong enough squad to at least perform, and we saw it for a while in some of those early games. I can't see anyone turning this around enough to avoid relegation, and certainly no-one in our price bracket, but someone has to stand up and at least stave off further humiliation - because that's now what this is. The endgame of a decade and more of mismanagement and awful decision making is crashing down around us. We need a firefighter not to put it out but at least to get everyone out with a measure of hope for rebuilding. Gareth isn't that man.

Gary can do just enough to keep us going but he's got to get the run of the green soon. We've been losing and drawing by nearly nothing, our performances have been bang average but several of our last 5 games could've gone either way.
I stand by what I said last year that going down might be what the club needs. No guarantee of success coming back up and could be a financial disaster, but I don't see us climbing out of the bottom half anytime soon.
We all know Gary is not the long term solution. There are seemingly no long term solutions in management these days. But if surviving the Championship on budget is the current plan, i see no better choice.
Can't see Gary being here next week.

Just watched the post match interview. GA is deluded. Just constantly contradicting himself. Still saying the players gave everything. Says we are always open down side of the team yet picked 3 in midfield. Says they have no quality but then says they are giving him everything. We can't score a goal. Can't stop giving stupid goals away. His subs are a joke. Kakay on at 3 nil down. Playing a left back at right back. DM is too small to play in midfield at this level.
We have league 1 standard players and even then they would be struggling to hold their own. Letting GA have another 2 weeks isn't going to change anything. I wouid stick warnock in til the end of the season and hope we are still in this league. These players are badly coached and no one could tell you what are tactics or style of play is apart from run non stop and hope for the best!!! Its a complete mess and this manager had had long enough to serve up better than the sh1te that is currently on offer.

There really hasn't been progress made. Warburton had them playing decent stuff in hindsight. They didn't have the strength of the squad to see out the season. Warnock may be a person to steady the ship. He may see Chair as Taraabt-type player. No, I realize he's not at that level but he's a quality player in the right setting. We are in reset mode once more. We could also bring Warbuton back in with a view to have him bring a permanent with him getting the director of football role long term. He'd be able to evaluate the players to take the club forward. Just a thought.
