As a minimum GA promised hard work and commitment. Im not sure if that was there, it was hard to see, but the quality isnt there. That team isnt far off what will start against Watford and confidence will be shot by the time we finish the batch of away games.

I always hoped signings would come in late in the window but it now seems we dont have any money to do this. Our only hope is to move on Chair and Willock asap. Individually they wont be able to turn this team around. With some cash we have a chance by balancing the squad out. I think Id prefer the Board to spend over FFP and take a points deduction for 24/25.

I think we'll hear GA saying he's learned a lot about his players from todays game. Get in from of the Board and get some cash out of them.

Where are all these lower league players that Ainsworth had a great knowledge of?

We’ve already seen he’s only been interested in his old boys from Wycombe, I wouldn’t trust his judgement on players if we bring any money in from sales.

The club have a massive dilemma now. Do they:

        a) spend enough to keep us up but then end up with a point’s deduction next season due to failing FFP and then possibly go down next season instead

        b) leave squad as is and highly like go down this season

Surely it has to be the first one doesn’t it?

He has already said we've missed out on a few players due to our budget.

            Just got home from game

We're shite no effort no drive no leadership no f kin tactics

GA I can't see being here come October the squads diabolical anyone who thinks different needs to go to specsavers outclassed from 1st to last minute too many passengers no quality and Dunne out for months will be even more costly as there's fk all depth in the squad

All playing for Oxford by the looks of things. What are our scouts doing as well?

In the cinema after the gamr to watch Oppenheimer.

This will be two nuclear meltdowns for me today.

C'mon! I'm sure many on here are my age and thus long enough in the tooth to realise that a stellar pre-season invariably results in a diabolical actual season but a poor pre-season often leads into a decent season. Friendlies are meaningless.... we now have more miles in the legs and are ready to snot the Hornets next weekend.

                        Total fuc kin embarrassing performance.
Five nil t0 a league one side who outplayed us in every department.
Some will say its only a pre season friendly and it don't mean anything.
Well boll ocks to that .
I look at this team and see no hope.
They should all be ashamed to wear the shirt.

I didn’t go to the game but will be at Watford and Cardiff

Those are the games that I worry about, not Oxford

I'm fully expecting a tough season from the off, but the Board can't be planning for an FFP breach yet surely. Clearly there is something afoot if the Board's advisors are actively courting new investors. That says to me that the existing Board want out altogether, or at least substantially lower exposure, and this could be a bigger risk than our on field performance

Certainly going to be an interesting season....

It’s not difficult to guess two carthorse players he missed out on, Max Power and Lewis Wing.

Lots of players have left league one clubs and joined other league one clubs. Look at how well Oxford played today after bringing in 3 players on free transfers.

This sums up why FFP is unfair, we have 2 choices, spend and get relegated by points deduction or not spend and get relegated coz we're pants. FFP is the worst thing that happened to football and has resulted in several teams going bust.
