Amit did mention a little while back there would be changes happening. Les and Tony gone, some backroom appointments and of course our PL class training ground and facilities now being used.
Given we are skint it makes sense to look at our backroom staff with a view to maximising the potential of our players at all levels. Most of these appointments will cost far less than a player. It will not make a massive overnight difference but could longer term. We are not getting the most out of our players or bringing anything like enough through the ranks. We like to look to teams like Brighton and Brentford and their success is largely based on getting their infrastructure right. Annoying thing for me is some of the players we have renewed on one year deals are extremely unlikely to be anywhere good enough for the first team and what we have spent on them could have gone on these backroom staff.
Political correctness means I suspect looking to cut back or dispense with female teams is not a possibility. That they do not work financially makes no difference. It is impossible to have a meaningful debate on the subject.
