Read somewhere that the average Championship wage is £7k.

I suppose that figure would be slightly skewed upwards by the presence of teams relegated from the Prem with parachute money so maybe the average for a bog-standard skint Championship club is about £5K?

So, if the average is £5K-ish I reckon we have been overpaying for too many players. Maybe it's the only way we can entice them to sign for us though?

this is why Balogan, Amos and Albert are leaving. I hope Gareth manages to move SJ on too. Just moving those four on would create the space in the budget for 6/7 decent players at this level, if we can recruit well.

that said I’m not sure how much I trust these numbers. Would be surprised if Dykes was that low.
