I don't think so at all. It's unfair restrictions on business. It should be up to teams to manage or mismanage as they choose, ok that means some clubs will fail for making bad decisions but, in my opinion, that's better than clubs failing because of penalties imposed on them from a system that is supposed to protect them from financial ruin. FFP has got to be the primary cause of clubs getting in financial trouble. That is the definition of irony!

Spurs announced their results last week.

Turnover of £444m for the year to June 22 which resulted in a loss after tax of £50m. But that was better than the loss the previous year of £83m. But I suppose they would could recoup some of the £133m lost over two years by selling Harry Kane, but they wouldnt have anyone to score then!!

Im sure our owners have realised by now you dont come into football to make money!

Is that correct? We can't lose £39m over 3 years but they can lose £83m in one year?

Company losses that are reported to Companies House and used for taxation are different to FFP calculations. Costs of running the stadium and academy do not form part of the FFP figure I believe.

Over thise two years they lost £133m. But if the FFP figure relating solely to the first team playing budget was a loss of £80m they would need to bring down by £41m in the third year to a loss of £39m. I guess they could achieve that by not buying a £45m plsyer from their annusl £444m income or selling Harry Kane for £100m and buying a £50m replacement?

As Les said in his last interview, clubs keep their FFP position very secret to stop the vultures circling.

Its all clear as mud to me. I guess if Man City get done then other clubs will get dragged in. But how seriously will they do it when these clubs generate the global interest that makes overseas premiership TV rights so lucrative? Better to clobber the low hanging fruit like us and Luton etc.
