Derry has left his role at Palace.
we should definitely get him back to coach our defence.
Show them what commitment and motivation is.

I'd play him! More aggression than out current lot.

Would have him at the club in a coaching role in a heartbeat, in fact he could be a Head Coach if things dont work out with Crichley.

Him alongside Clint Hill as an assistant manager would be something.

A clash of personalities with the Selhurst Park manager ultimately cost the former midfielder his position on the coaching staff

Probably a good article, but it wanted me to sign up after a couple of paragraphs, however, I got the gist.

The grit and determination he encapsulated on the pitch "upset" the Palace players.

It seems though the same grit and determination would "upset" the delicate players we have in our first team squad.

My immediate reaction is "OK, get him in, get rid of our sensitive players and start again next season.

Snowflake generation has made it's way firmly into football. Work ethic and nouse of young people in general is extremely poor these days, with exceptions.

Derry probably tried getting them to tackle a little more robustly and they all burst into floods of tears.

Spot on, a high percentage of youngsters today do not have an ounce of morale fibre.

Them players need to be worried about going in the dressing room if they haven't done enough.
what job in the world doesn't give you a kick up the hole if your not performing?
Get him and Clint in like stated above.

Totally pointless and passionate debate. Wouldn't happen so end of debate. We can't even spend 50p on a striker let alone pay off a manager with a 3 year contract
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Stranger things have happened at sea, I, like all the other posters on this thread, hope it does.

Said it over and over in posts, I don't like Critchley as a manager, probably a thoroughly decent chap outside football, but he just doesn't do anything for me as a manager, we need at this moment in time a big snarling Pitbull to put a rocket up everyone, and as has been stated , if they don't like it then f uck off somewhere else, in my humble opinion!!

I think Neil is a case of wrong guy wrong time. In another model he's ideal, it's jut not this one at this time.

I don't like the attitude some have of 'get someone foreign in' just because that works at other clubs. but maybe a continental approach is the breath of frsh air we need. A different style of running the clubs football. Probably a part of what MB brought to the club and pitch.

We don't need Derry shouting at people. Wouldn't object to him being around the club but what this team needs isn't a rocket up their ####. They need a clear plan and the resources to execute it. They've already proven they can play like a top 6 team, shouting at them isn't going to bring that form back, solid, direct, cohesive training, tactics and match planning are.
