Clive Allen was comfortably the best teenager to ever play for Queens Park Rangers, Paul Goddard was his partner in crime, who was also brilliant.

I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

He is the perfect example of why I have zero patience or appetite to allow "kids" umpteen years to develop. I think it's embarrassing having men who are aged 22/23/24 on the books but are still treated as "developmental talent" for the future.

If they're not at least 90% the finished article and ready to do a solid job in matchday squad before turning 21 I have severe reservations they ever will be.

Lads like Tim show what's possible and where the bar needs to be set.

Tho I have never come Close to Claiming I know Squat about The Science of Football, I have been around Working Dogs for over 40 years and seen Many Dogs that Mature much Later than others, Physically and Mentally, Patience is Indeed sometimes a Long Weight.

I had seen him play for younger England teams and knew Gerrard rated him so when we got Beale i knew we had a chance of getting him and was calling for us to sign him as soon as Beale came.
He is a typical modern midfielder , very athletic , quick thinking , strong and a box to box type , i am hoping he will improve as the season goes on and his best position is where field plays , so it will keep Field on his toes , which i'm sure it is doing at the moment as Field also looks much better this season.
As for best teenager at Rangers not yet , it's early days . As other posters have already said Allen , Goddard , Gallen , Dawes , Neil , Waddock were all gooduns .

Good shout about Francis, you could have the Morgan twins, Gallen, Sibley, probably lots more

You described the player well, you expressed my thoughts exactly. I would also add that he has a chance to play as an attacking midfielder. But that's a question for the coach. Maybe the coach thinks otherwise.

I know he didn't make it as a manager but as a player Gary Waddock was up there as 1 of our best young players, he was a remarkable talent that had it all.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

You wont get much better than Alan McDonald who made his debut as a 19yrs old. He was with us for 17yrs and made 402 appearances.

And Happy Heavenly Birthday for today, Macca. Gone too soon but never forgotten.

Leon Jeanne was supposed to be the next big thing when he first broke through. He was seriously talented. Only problem was he preferred braking through people's back doors and nicking their stuff instead of the defensive line!! (IIRC) Jail and drugs destroyed a very promising career. Shame.
