Dumb mistake
Rangers got Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield tied down to new contracts in the summer but the only player they let go was Balogun.
While he’s 34 years old now, the Nigeria international did a lot for the Gers last season by playing 37 times in all competitions to help us reach the Europa League final and win the Scottish Cup.
He and Connor Goldson struck up a good partnership.
But now, since he and Calvin Bassey have been let go, our defence is a mess with Giovanni van Bronckhorst using James Sands alongside Goldson.
What on earth is going on in Ross Wilson’s head?
Out of the four ageing players in the squad from last season, the one that should have been kept around above all others was let go.
McGregor, Davis and Arfield weren’t going to be regular starters this season but Balogun would have played most games up until this point if he’d have stayed around.
Davis and Arfield were only fringe players last season too. But they got new deals.
Can someone please explain the decision-making process behind getting rid of Balogun, who’s helped QPR to two clean sheets in his first two starts in the English Championship?
Yes it was dumb to let him go !!!!
