First have to say well done to the fans who created the best atmosphere I've heard at LR for a while!
Just a quick summary really as I'm off out soon.
Much better than recent performances, we looked better when we got the ball down and played, we need to stop this hoofing from the back that we sometimes do. The defence was slightly better but still looked vunerable and Donny did miss a couple of chances that they could quite easily have scored another day.
That said we were the better team and deserved the win. German was superb really put a lot of effort in and deservedly scored, Simpson worked hard again and got his goal.
Cook was the best of the midfield, Faurlin was ok, took a knock to the head early on so that could have effected him, Connolly did ok but he isn't a midfielder, he should be moved back to the defence imo, let's hops his injury isn't too serious! Buzsaky was ok, great ball for Simpsons goal which shows that he has the ability. He actually looked better than last 10 mins when he played in the centre with Faurlin.
Defence was better than recent games but still looks shaky, I don't think that is our best back four at all and I never felt like the 1 goal would be enough. The full backs are still the weakest area and Ramage is absolutely horrendous, he puts effort in but he is so poor, I've no idea how the guy ever played for Newcastle.
Ikeme didn't really have a lot to do, would be nice to see him get a clean sheet. His kicking is a bit wayward sometimes, is he better than Cerny? No not really but Cerny's confidence seemed to be shot and now we have won Ikeme should at least stay in for the Boro game!
Overall there was more effort from the team which was good to see. And you could see at the end how much it meant to (most) of them. Cook looked over the moon and well done to him and the players who stayed out and clapped the fans, it doesn't take a lot but it's appreciated! Let's hope the confidence is back now after we've got the win and got rid of Flavio! Let's start getting points on the board and get safe!
Harford I still think he's out of his depth, didn't pick our best team imo and seems scared to make a substitution. I'm sure he will be replaced soon!
