He has been booted out. We deliberately didn’t play him in games we needed to win so he didn’t hit the appearance number needed for a contract renewal. It’s clear the club things he is passed his sell by date and to be fair, that’s what his performances suggest.
We need to save money and bring in younger forwards who are more manoeuvrable and someone who can hold the ball up.
Its a business decision to get rid of him. The owners are probably sick of writing cheques all the time and seeing no return on them. Austin was basically a sub being paid 20k per week! Madness at a club our size. We are stuck with stef on big money so we are getting business done early. Austin more interested in being funny on talkshite than getting himself fit this season.
That was his decision.
I think it is true that most would agree that Charlie just hasn't been up to it this season
His fitness is awful - and part of what made him great that Physicality has gone and now he is late to a lot of challenges and seems to want to spend his time winding up the opposition fans
but he has been incredible for us and that's what we should remember him for - one season too many sadly

good luck at Swindon or wherever you end up next!
Totally agree. When you see videos of him from
a few years ago the main thing that strikes you is that he looks so physically different. Like 3 stone lighter snd more athletic.
Just confirmed that Charlie will be playing for Swindon Town in a charity match on 3rd July.
I wouldnt be surprised to see him sign for them shortly after and perhaps have one eye on the managers job. Swindon have a bit of a history of doing that will players nest the end of their playing career.
How's he going to do talkshite in oz???? He'll be the size of a house by the time he finishes up over there..shame he couldn't get a another champ team to go to but maybe he hasn't got the motivation to do and proper pre season and get himself fit.
