Moses looked far more secure and composed playing as a conventional right back in a flat back four. I felt the whole defence looked solid as a four too in fact, I felt we more or less kept Huddersfield at arm's length with just the 4 at the back.

Hopefully, we'll stick with a flat back four going forwards. Particularly if it facilitates having Amos and Dozzell in midfield. First time in ages I've felt we had a balance/shape to our formation and moved through the thirds effectively.

No Steff, no Hendrick , equals more pace, more energy, more forward intent, that first goal was really very good, and exactly what most of us have been crying out for since Christmas

Second half apart from the first few minutes played better but the defending is still shaky and needs more pace, but overall we were the better side, Huddersfield how the hell are they in 3rd, they look a middle of the table side.

Yes. A key part of that goal was George Thomas bombing about.... he was directly involved in build-up with a touch or two and then made a couple of sprints that dragged their defenders about. His work rate and penetrative runs were immense - it felt like he singlehandedly dragged the whole team 10yds further up the pitch all game.
He's earned a start in the remaining games in my view and a firm place in the squad next season in my view.

Much better performance & deserved to win it & can play like this & that’s why it’s so frustrating to see what’s happened in last few months

                Well fyi.
The Huddersfield fans on one of their forums were very complimentary about our team.
Chair had good press from them and another mentioned our 22.
Maybe we should be less harsh on the lads.
Many were pointing out that the injuries have decimated us and we were one of the best away sides this season.

His best game in an R's shirt that was. Will say the same for Mcallum.

Shows the players are as responsible as the manager, more so imo.
Sounds as though they battled and fought yesterday.

We've been crying out to play with the younger players for a while. It gives the team more energy. Well done to McCallum, Moses, Amos, Thomas, Dozzell and Ilias. They should be playing for a while together, however, well done to MW for changing tactics. Four at the back is the best option for our kind of players.

He had a poor game, but how on Earth did he not get a penalty when the defender almost kicked him in the head, yet moments later a free kick was given to Derby for a knee high challenge?

Overall it was a better performance with more energy without Johansen and Hendrick to slow it all down. And we played a 4 man defence at last.

the Substitutions as usual were too late especially as Dykes was so poor - had poor service though and plays better alongside another striker.

We need to be starting games with these players in our starting lineup for the remaining 4 games.

We also need to get better crosses into the box for Dykes, Austin or Gray to attack.

I would have mentioned McCallum as well, it's just his time here has been so stop-start and blighted by injury I don't think it's fair to rate his games. But, you're right - he looked really solid yesterday and had an excellent game.

Agree the youngsters can make mistakes but it was dozzell amos chair field who got us to a good position and have energy coupled with a very good degree of talent to burn
