  • On my way home

A night where u were proud to be a Rangers fan, the fight and commitment from the 10 men was richly rewarded with a winning goal.
A bizarre game tactically, starting with no strikers and ending without a forward thinking player, taking of Chair, Willock and Johanson seemed to be a very negative move, left us without any outlet at all up top.

Sanderson was a fool to be sent off, with 11 men I believe we would have won easily.

All I can do tonight is praise the players for their fight and determination to get this win, the crowd responded to their fight and the support last 25 minutes was excellent.

A very important win to keep us in the mix, some very happy fans walking back to White City tonight.

Good report as always Romford, the crowd did sound amazing and were obviously appreciating the effort our lads were putting in with 10 men, they even commented on that on the Blackpool stream I was watching!

Support sounded awesome on my stream, we will always cheer, but give us something to get behind and we will raise the roof off, I'm up for the Cardiff game soon I can't wait

I'm not convinced about we would have won easily with 11 men. Blackpool were poor, negative and unadventurous but simple fact is in 4o mins we didn't trouble their keeper aside from Dunney's goal from a corner.

I thought Warburton's subs actually made sense. However, due to brainless sending off we never really got to see if Willock and Chair up top was a good move.

The huge positive tonight was simply seeing players who all wanted to scrap for a win. I'd started believing some of them weren't actually asssed in several games this year.

When I say win easily I mean Blackpool offered very little, Barbet missed a sitter and I feel we would have scored again, Substitutions just made the formation fairly negative, hardly an endorsement of our 2 main strikers both on the bench.

Really sent a message to Chas and gray playing with no striker . Warbs got his subs right . Team really dug in and fought hard.

I loved this game and the decisions made.

MW proved me wrong re his stubbornness to adjust the formation and player selections.

The Willock/Chair pairing was inspiring, and got the whole team moving on the front foot. Hope we see this again.

Moses and Field were standouts today. Liked solidity of Hendrick and Stefan as well. And so happy for Dom Ball who played a tremendous role in securing the win.

All three subs were the right ones at the right time.

                Bravo to all.

Well done to the "stuck in his ways" breadman tonight. We had become so predictable that opposing teams could phone in their own formations days in advance.
if it had gone disastrously wrong he would have been slated (not from me), if it had finished as a draw, it would at the very least given our future opponents something else to think about.
The fact we ended up victorious was a great result, and not only gives our upcoming opponents something else to think about, but might give Warburton himself a few selection headaches.

Agreed about Dom Ball, he had a great game and showed last night how important his versatility is to us.

Agreed and apart from a needless booking was excellent as a replacement for Sanderson.

So do we all want to see now, is playing a false 9 is the way to go for now, considering our playing style, the desire MW has to play Willock and Chair in the same team and our strikers not being tuned to the way MW is setting the side up.

We looked good last night before the red. We looked pretty good after it considering, subs were excellent and well timed, though I think we had them even with 10 men and sat too deep too often, props to every player on the pitch for putting a shift in.

Stats don't lie and we did dominate the first half while looking good, though only 2 really obvious chances, one of which was a goal but considering it was a newish setup we adjusted well.

Think we should try that team again against Blackburn.

The new system worked in the way the ball was moved a lot quicker through the team, however Chair run about 10 miles but rarely had the ball and Willock looked slightly baffled as to what he should be doing,

Even though I’m not a huge fan I would have Dykes back in the team, he does put himself about and keeps defenders occupied, shame we only saw new formation for 1 half as it would have been interesting to see the full 90 minutes.
Would also like to see a flat back 4 against weaker teams, do we really need 3 centre halves to mark 1 man.
Overall worth a try and would like to see again for a full game,

agreed. The changes worked but at times we needed a better outlet.
