Personally I felt we needed pace in Jan window upfront and didn’t get it
without watching kargbo or Armstrong train we’ve no idea however Chas yesterday was tripe Gray has goals in him but looks like he’s spat his dummie out and ended up with us.
I hope we stay too 6 but I do feel with a pace injection from someone like Dembele who went to Bournemouth for £500k would of suited us plays wide or down middle. Armstrong imo should of got a run out a posh in the cup

Spot on! I’ve been banging on about this the last couple of months! Why oh why could we have not spent a bit of money on 1 or 2 decent, young, hungry, pacy options from League 1 or 2? Wouldn’t have broke the bank and I’m sure would fit in with the washers, shirt buttons and peanuts we pay within our wage structure! So very frustrating! It would be a crime to slip away this season and not make the play offs! Personally I can see both us and Blackburn dropping out of top 6, with the Smoggies and the Tricky Trees replacing us…very sad
We dropped the ball massively by not getting a pacy forward in. The club always harp on about getting the right sort of player in and they have to fit in with the rest of the lads. That's nonsense. Gray is clearly a d**k, moans non stop, puts no effort in and hasn't turned up for us at all. That sends out the wrong message to the fans.
Austin is 32, Billy Sharp is 36. Look at the fitness of both and tell me who looks the younger man. The manager clearly has his favourites like all managers do but it's coming to the business end of the season and getting the results is key. Austin shouldn't be starting games anymore unless it's 2 up top and it's off the bench with 10 mins to go.
There's no way that guy is fit enough to play 60 mins let alone 90. He was never quick but watching him now and it's become a joke. We are stuck with what we have and that's the managers decision. We got hendrick in who we didn't need.
I just hope Dykes stays fit. If we are left with Gray and Austin then they are not going get us the goals we badly need!!
Armstrong will get healthy, and Kargbo has scored goals in the U23 squad.
Short of that, and knowing it sounds desperate (which it is) can any other first teamer slot in there, knowing up front it’s not their natural position.
Thomas?
Dozzell?
Adomah?
Got to be better than what we’re getting from a suddenly grizzly Charlie (2 goals in 25 matches played) or a now wimpering Gray.
I keep saying to those around me for the past 2-3 months the way we play why have a striker at all just makes the striker look crap as no service to the at all apart from Reading amazing 2 crosses 2 Dykes headers look is Warburton good to move us on and upwards now we are very decent yes hes turned us around no doubt but too stubborn to try something ingenious look at Parker last week at Blackpool 0-1 down and just went for it ended up with 7 strikers on!! yes 7 forwards/strikers . My fear is we are done for Hull we very very poor probably one of the worst sides down LR this year I feel at least Reading were all over us for the first 15 or so Hull like us just looked crap!!
Armstrong needs to be given a shot so we can have an opinion to spout on here. I feel he'll be good.
Once again I feel it's unfair to put our strikers down when their service is so crap. None of them are capable of being a lone striker or a striker that works off anything but dangerous crosses and balls to their feet. Charlie has never been quick, he's always been laboured and slow. Yeah he's slower than 10 years ago or even 3 years but digging him out for being, slow and old is like blaming a giving a cow a hard time for eating the grass, and he's not fat.
We just don't create chances. If we don't do that then it doesn't really matter how good the strikers are we will struggle to score and strikers not scoring tend to lose confidence and become disinterested and ineffectual.
Teams have sussed out our formation. Personally I'd play a back four. One striker up top with probably Chair playing off them. If Dykes was fit I'd probably play two up top and get as many balls into the box as possible. Bit short of wide players but Willock and Albert out wide and two fairly robust midfielders in the centre to protect the defence a bit and break up opposition play. Full back options not great but we have been told Sanderson can play anywhere across the back four and has pace. Not ideal and appreciate a bit old school but we need to rip up the rule book otherwise I can see us limping outside the top 10 let alone play off places.
A genuinely good side can make adjustments and maintain some momentum.

Just one problem…Warbs refuses to change formation or tactics! It will come back to bite him on the ####!

I didn’t know about the move by Parker, but yes. Ingenious. MW may be many things, but he’s not that. And THAT may prove the difference between a good team and a playoff winner.
How is it that other clubs throw in teenagers into the line up and yet we don’t (instead we loan them out or let them play in the Development squad for what feels like forever)?
Yes, change the formation to a 4-3-3 with the likes of Chair Adomah Willock, even give Thomas a chance in an attacking role.
Include the likes of Armstrong and Kargbo in the squad.
