It's not over yet, we could rally and find a bit of form or a spark of something which will give us a chance of making the play offs, but that's the future, who can say what will happen, the here and now tells it like it is, and it's not looking bright, it is definitely a must win against Blackpool in my opinion
Even if we found the form, into playoffs and win them, the kind of performances we've shown over the last few months and inability to change tactics due to players available or adapt to opposition would see us straight back down again, after a very un-enjoyable year in the prem. I'd rather stay in the championship!

Said it during the window that we should have been looking at players not for the promotion push, but for what happened if we got promoted. Right now the squad and playing style needs so much more development and that's not based on losing a couple of games, that's based on not really being that good this season, despite our league position being what it is.

OK, so after they may need to regroup, but the must be some fluidity in play in any position.

For instance, what would be wrong with the occasional break from the "forward, along, back, along, forward, repeat, lose it" constantly adopted at the back.
Willock is not a LWB and is wasted there. Neither is Field and was used as one I think against Stoke (got subbed as he was not able to play there. Also, not forgetting at how Thomas was played as a RWB against Barnsley and subbed after 25 mins!

I've had this discussion more than once on here, I totally agree we would struggle in the prem but it's not a push to win the b loody thing it's a push to survive the first season avoid the drop and get a foothold in there, to move the club on into the future and secure the future
I dont see the point in a team playing 46 league games a season in the hope of not getting promoted!!!
But like I said it would be a very tough season for us to watch admittedly
If we were already an established prem team, mid table every season, would people be saying I wish we were playing in the championship, I very much doubt it, so let's give it a go

Surely a pro footballer can run with the ball and then pass rather than pass standing still??
Dickie did that against Millwall on the opening day.

I also recall Leistner doing that (not scoring though) a few seasons ago and going back years before, Maddix did it and even he scored.

I agree. I wouldn't expect anything more than a relegation battle. However, we could off course survive and push on from there. We would also need to sign a few players to have a chance (even on loan with a view to buy and with relegation clauses in their contracts). We would at least receive parachute payments that could help us go straight back up again as Norwich, Watford and Fulham have done. If we are not aiming for promotion, but instead just hope to stay a top half Championship side (or even in the division, then that for me would be disappointing attitude for the club to have.

My point is that this team, playing this way would get demolished in the current premiership, and we should have one eye on what happens if we go up, we can't just sign loads of players in the summer to fill the gaps, it never works, we need that core now, not after promotion.

The only positions i feel we've got locked down should we go up are the goalie and centre backs, the midfield has the bodies but it's not showing up, Amos, Field and Stef have all shown quality but not often enough to compete one league up. Willock is premiership quality. The rest needs improvement.

Even if we wanted to sign players we don't have the money anyway, so we need to be taking chances on reinforcements at prices we can afford NOW (should have taken chances in Jan), not over inflated in the summer, or at the very least being realistic on how to setup the current squad as it;s too late to cry over milk not spilt in the Jan window.

Of course we should be trying to get promoted.

OK, so players are being allocated unsuitable positions. I agree with that.

But does it mean a player can't use initiative if a situation arises on the field that lends itself to the players natural skill set, or must the player slavishly adhere to constraints of the position he had been handed?

The game has become bogged down with systems and patterns of play etc but all the teams pretty much know the others system or pattern so there is no unexpected, I suppose having a style of play to a team is natural, but you have to have the players that understand it and are capable of playing it, but it is stifling some of the flair players in all teams I think, Man City are the exception, not the rule, but they have the best squad not only in this country but possibly the world

Yes I didn't mean it hasn't been done before, I meant surely sanderson should be able to do it but instead gage the ball to someone else when it looked easier to carry the ball forward and commit a defender or deep lying midfielder.

That team would be great if we actually played the ball forwards

I have visited various diving centers in the Philippines, but most of all I loved the Philippine Fan Divers for the organization and their attitude. Someone writes that this is only for the pros, but I came here for my first dive. I passed 5 courses here. I learned how to swim, take pictures https://datehookup.dating/Singles-MI-Grand_Rapids.htm , and just understand the underwater world.

Today’s lineup with Chair/Willock but no strikers is bloody awesome!

Shows MW is now going to test new formulas for success instead of recycling ones that no longer work.

                              Bravo MW.

                              Fingers crossed.
