It was interesting to read an article about Dieng still being the No.1 keeper, but that it would be unfair to drop Marshall after he has done so well. It got me thinking that is not what he has done with Amos and Chair, after the latter just walked back into the team. I got why Chair got in for the cup game after Willock was rested, but not why he got back into the side for the league games.

Do not understand how both Stef and Charlie are so different to last season. It wasn't that long ago! Stef was different class and Charlie looked dangerous, albeit maybe not full 90 minutes.

We need to take some out of sorts players out for a while and change the system. Play two up top but get more balls into the box to give them something to attack otherwise they will be wasted. Two strikers with Willock and Chair buzzing around should in theory cause all kinds of problems to most teams in this division. We have a reasonable choice of CBs and decent goalie or two. Whilst we have our limitations we have enough to be able to change things around a bit and get back on track. More of the same is unlikely to be the answer.
I agree with this and with Charlie it was because he was played in a front two alongside Dykes not as a lone striker. Stef needs to play further forward, but perhaps not with both Chair and Willock in the side, especially with 3 CBs.

we rely so much on chair and willock, the coaches need to have other ideas.I don't think it's necessary a formation problem but I do think picking the right players,I don't like field and johansen in same team there too similar and you lose out when you need to act quickly to change things. The 3 midfield players centrally are key for us not necessary chair and willock, they've gotta control games and know when to slow and speed up the tempo.I liked dozzell but he needs experience in there and I'd have ball in there with him and johansen

This is an important thread, and many ideas above make sense. An extra midfielder. A different formation. Alternating Chair and Willock at times. Resting the aging warriors who've lost their edge.

              This much we know.

We've only scored one goal in the past 4 games, while giving up multiple goals in three of them.

It's fair to say we deserved to lose all four (lucky to draw with 'Boro who massively outplayed us).

Our style of play over these games has been the same: slow, tired-looking, and unimaginative.

MW made a big to do about playing thew whole squad as we faced something like seven games in less than three weeks. He was right then, but wrong not to yet follow through.

To bring some competitive juice back into the squad:

Start Dieng against Hull City -- then alternate Seny and Marshall the rest of the way.

Start Sanderson. Now. Dickie is not the same as he was earlier this season; a 2-game suspension watching Dion goiong at it may wake him up.

Play Amos and, at times, Dozzell and Ball. They're hungry to play. Very hungry.

Alternate Stefan and Hendrick. The former has grown slower and slower; the latter shows some promise to perform like Stefan did last season.

Play Chair and Dykes together on the front line backed by Willock. Charlie seems to have aged 5 years in 5 months, and Gray far too often looks disinterested.

This is not the time for MW, who's done a solid job up to now, to tell fans to calm down, that this is some kind of blip, when the swoon (short of Reading) has now covered the better part three weeks. Instead, MW should light a fire under everyone, and make every player know none will be given the "shirt". They've got to fight for it.

Maybe MW can change the line up to the following in a 4-2-1-1-2 formation.

This would allow Johansen to play ahead of the 2 CMs and concentrate more on his incisive forward passes rather than dropping deep. With Willock in a free role behind a front 2.

                Marhsall
                Sanderson, Dunne, Barbet, Odebajo
                Field, Amos
                Johansen
                Willock
                Dykes, Austin

Some of the confidence has gone from the team but It is down to the manager and coaches to get the team up and the team follow a plan that the playes can trust and it aint wing back!

Like it save for Austin. He’s shot; only role now is as a late game sub. Would go with Gray or Chair.

We’ve picked 17pts out of 21 & now lost two in a row, just hit a little blip, so what’s the panic?
