its a long season and we always will hit a rough patch - not that this is exactly a rough patch - as you say we are 2 points outside the playoffs

Overall I am satisfied with MWs work at QPR, but he does need to address our defending and team set up.
I agree that we looked disjointed at times against Forest, but we did have enough chances to go 2-0 up and didn't.
Yes, there are similarities to MWs 1st season and if he has improved we will get a better idea by the end of 2021.

I don't think its about the quality of the centre backs and I'm amazed by the description "donkeys" - Barbet, for example, is one of the most comfortable on the ball defenders we have had in years, and we all know how good Dickie can look going forward. I've reservations about Dunne as his clear errors have costs us several goals but he hasn't played in many games and is young so will hopefully improve.
But there is a massive issue with our defensive, lets not try to gloss over that. We have one of the worst defensive records in the football league, so that speaks for itself, and these issues follow Warburton around. There are five main problems imho:
1) The centre mids don't protect the back enough
2) Our wing backs have been good going forward but leave huge gaps behind for quick wingers to run into
3) We really struggle with that pass out from the back three to the midfield - I don't know if it is our defenders not finding the midfielders quickly enough or the midfielders not making themselves available, but it means that the back three just pass it back and forth between themselves and don't seem to have any ideas how to move it quickly through the thirds.
4) We miss Wallace and none of the right wing backs we have tried have looked entirely comfortable (if you could combine Kakay's fire with Odubajo's running forward you would have a decent player)
5) Although good on the ball none of our three centre backs have any pace so if a ball is knocked past them they can't recover

After playing Cardiff and Blackpool there's definitely been a change in approach of staying in games in the 2nd half.Blackpool game we changed formations aswell in 2nd half and I'm also noticing in the last two games are time wasting and trying to slow games down when we under pressure and not always looking to play out from the back.
