there are 3 football stadiums in LBHF ,i think the local council won't be to concerned about losing 1 of them ,especially us ,as there would not be to much opposition to develop something else

The main problem for the club is generating non-matchday revenue, its not just about the capacity of any new stadium.
For me, I think the best solution when we do eventually move is to build the capacity to around 18k, but leave the option to expand to 25k when demand proves it.
I think this would help because -
1. It would mean we have a nice new stadium possibly sooner and we would have the chance to fill it as close to or at full capacity for most games.
2. It would certainly save the club money.
3. The club could generate extra non-matchday revenue earlier as the stadium could host concerts and other events such as conferences.
LH says the stadium should hold 30k, but I do think that might be a little too high and I think we may well struggle to fill it, we have seen stadiums in the PL at smaller capacities and I do think starting at our existing capacity at LR would make some sense. I would rather we have a modern 18k capacity stadium almost full rather than a half empty 30k seater stadium.

A new stadium is a must if we have ambitions above being a mid table championship team.

A stadium with a capacity of 20-25k is not enough imho.
We need a stadium of between 30-40,000. Remember, this will be a multi-purpose built stadium. Not just for football. Corporate events, sports events, concerts etc.
We will fill this stadium when we return to the Premiership. Remember, we took almost 50k to the playoff final in 2014. We need to raise our standards and be more ambitious.
I would also build a roof to cover the stadium.
This stadium needs to be state of an art stadium.

As I've said before, you won't attract new fans to LR because it's basically a shithole.
No leg room, outdated facilities, little infrastructure.
People want an experience, they want up to date facilities and they want to get in and out quickly.
I know there are some on here who don't want new fans unless they can name every QPR keeper in order from 1965, but if you attract people who are football fans, then a new stadium, and the teams performance, could turn them into QPR fans.
At the moment our only revenue stream outside of the fans coming through the turnstiles and the club shop, is player sales. Now if you could rent the stadium out for concerts and events, have a hotel or retail as part of the new stadium complex, then this would mean that we wouldn't have to sell our prize assets every year to balance the books.
If you build it, they will come.

I think the club needs to start seriously looking outside the borough for land for a new stadium in case Linford Christie doesn't progress or we miss out on the site to another club. I personally think we should be looking for land in Greenford or possibly Ealing, there is bound to be a few bits of land there that could support a new stadium for the club.
Yes it means leaving W12, but at the end of the day you have to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

I seem to remember Liverpool having this problem when they were building the Centenary stand, 2 elderly sisters would not sell their house to them, held the Scousers up for quite a while, probably Evertonians, bless em.
The idea of buying up Ellerslie Road houses is laughable..... you'd have to buy both sides, not just the ones that back on to KPF and even then I suspect houses on North side of Ethelden Road would raise concerted objections about a stadium creeping up to their back gardens. There must be at least 50 properties on Ellerslie Road, all worth at least £1million per pop though the price would rocket and some will hold out for more like the Scouse Biddys. Adding in demolition and cost of the new stand (FFC stand cost £100 million) I'd say the total cost would be £180million minimum. All that at money to bump up capacity by what, 5000 (and still be left with 3 pokey cramped stands) is totally unviable, would take 5000+ games to recoup the outlay, assuming we always sold those extra 500o seats of course.

If you don't progress, you will go backwards as all around you progress.
If we don't improve the matchday experience and revenue stream at LR, then we will have to do it somewhere elase. If we don't, then we will end up as a yoyo club between the lower leagues, selling our best players every year just to make ends meet.
I know there are some on here who would be quite happy sitting in a cramped seat watching us get trounced by Forest green Rovers, as long as they can sit with their like minded mates, but I suspect the majority of fans want something better for their club.
If we tumble down the leagues, then the youngsters growing up in the Bush will end up supporting one of the other local teams with a bit more vision.
