Right now we are not under any FFP constraints. We had a hard time squeezing under the three year running £39m threshold last season, but we are free from any such threat now. The reason why we are now very prudent in our spending must be a message from owners that they are not prepared to fund ongoing losses any longer.
However, whatever some might think of our owners, they are sensible business people. They see the same as we can see, and that is a squad that is not good enough at this level. It might end with relegation - not because of the manager, but because of the squad. I think the focus of owners are on strengthening the squad, not the coaching set up. Thats where the problem is. We gamled on a few cheap players, but it did not work out, and the owners can see it.
Tony might be out of money because of the big financial hit taken by airline companies, but Ruben is fine, and I think Ruben will stump up enough cash to ensuree we strengthen during January, so we can see out the season safely. If not, why should he keep being majority owner? I guess 3-4 new players will arrive including a decent striker, a decent midfielder and a good winger to replace BOD. Some might be short term loans.

I actually posted yesterday that the owners helped by "Mr QPR" have taken the decision not to put money in, I had no idea we were free to spend so to speak.
They have lost interest and don't care if we go down, seems hitman had them sussed from the start.
Does put a different picture on it, but does not excuse Warburton doing the same thing for 90mins game in game out.
And if he didn't want Bonne we should never have bought him.
If you have a poor squad you have to be flexible to get points.
Remember Warnock?

We are still under ffp constraints, however we have a bit more head room than previous years . You get judged on a 3 year rolling system . We have spent the last few years clearing out our big earners and trying not to breach ffp again .This now means our wage bill is a fraction of what it was 3 or 4 season ago .

Stainrod, I judge the quality of a manager of the points he brings on board, not on whether he plays Bonne out of position, is late in using substitutions, leave Adomah on the bench or plays Cameron again and again even if we have options.

No, we are not. We have been for years, fighting as mad men to stay inside the £39m threshold. But now we are free to spend £10m more than we do without being in breach.

We have replaced them by:
Kakay, Hämälainen, Ball, Dickie, Dykes, Bonne, Willock, Adomah, Thomas, Kelman, Carroll, Kane, Wallace, Kelly
Those thinking Thomas can replace Eze, Bonne can replace Hugill, Dykes can replace Wells, Kakay can replace Furlong, Häälainen can replace Manning/Bidwell, Ball can replace Freeman and Cameron can replace Luongo are deluded.
During the process we have netted £25-30m in transfer fees (Eze, Freeman, Luongo, Manning) and we have spent around €5m. More important, we have more than halfed the salary budget and got rid of the FFP treath.
When McClaren left we were number 19th. Thats exactly where we are at the moment.
Please show me one - just one - club in the entire league that have got rid of so much quality and replaced it with poundland players, and still sit at the same place in the league! Compared to most managers in similar position Warburton is not doing bad at all.
I appreciate we are all frustrated with the recent run, but I think the abuse in the direction of Warburton is grossly exegarated. The main problem is not Warburton, but the quality of our squad.
A dose of realism is needed: Which managers can we attract on our budget that would be a sure upgrade? Please don't come with Ainsworth, Derry, Hill, Barton, Cook or that sort of options. And please don't bring up unrealistic dream candidates like Howe and Klopp.
Let's see what the squad looks like in February and compare it to what finished last season. Comparing the squad today with a "dreamteam" of former players going back 24 months isn't a balanced approach - I imagine the players Brentford have unloaded over past 24 months would give their current 1st XI a right spanking.
