I go to football to relax and enjoy myself - not get socio-political stuff rammed down my throat. I use the word "rammed" because it's been going on incessantly since June. I could accept it for a period of a game or two but with each passing game I've found myself starting to feel hectored and lectured. It's got to the stage where I now have hostile and dark thoughts about why is this Bentley-driving African person kneeling on the ground with his fist in the air in one of the most equitable and tolerant nations on Earth again??? Sorry matey, last time I looked, virtually all the despicable, bigoted and intolerant societies are in Africa and The Middle East ie YOUR homeland. Like I say, dark thoughts.
Football should ban the clenched fist salute immediately and also ban organised kneeling before matches. Plenty of players discreetly walk on to the pitch making the sign of the cross or offering a prayer to their God - there's no reason a player can't quietly kneel if they so wish. There's no need for this contentious divisive organised posturing to continue.
I used to think it was quite funny how football used to piggy-back onto whatever right-on cause it could get away with in order to sportswash the fact it was a venal money machine happy to engage with any tyrant anywhere anytime. However, this time the Blazers have overstepped and have failed to realise that the angry righteous mob on social media don't pay the bills, the match-going fans do. Put in simple terms: they are playing to the wrong audience.
That's my two penneth worth. I have no wish to fall out with anyone or cause distress. If you feel it's important for teams to keep on kneeing I'm happy to accept your opinion. It's just an opinion I don't share. Not agreeing with you doesn't make me a racist or a bigot.

Nobody and I mean NOBODY in this thread is not saying that the lives of black people don't matter.
What we are saying, if you take your little commie hat off and read everything in its entirety, is BLM are a bunch of leftist agitators, hell bent on causing division.
FML, some people really need to get their heads out of their a rses and learn to have independent thought, and stop being spoon fed propagand by msm.

Some really good thought through reasoned replies in here.

Just seen on SkyNews that Federal Prosecutors in the USA have made the first steps to break up Facebook's monopoly of social media.
Hopefully this is a first step in creating more unity and stopping extreme reporting that has helped this division between Antifa/BLM vs Patriots/White Supremacists and all factions in between.
Let's hope awareness and learning towards social justice continues in a sane way in 2021. Like many 2020 can just #### off ........!!!
More beer more football- keep politics out!
