Curbs for me, I just can't get past my loathing for Colin, only surpassed by that of Blackwell.

Yes Curbs kept Charlton in the Prem, and initially did well at West Ham, but he clearly has a problem aligning priorities and motivating given that as soon as his teams hit the safe points tally, they effectively went on holiday and were rubbish for the remainder of the season. Happened many times, even when Charlton would be riding high in the league they would reach their target then think the job was done rather than push on.

I think that's why the Charlton fans became disillusioned and i can see their reasons, although the way things were handled therafter was woeful.

I think he's too cautious to really achieve much long term.

I would much prefer coppell personally.

                  Thats harsh going by looks.

You must of been frightened to take the kids when Dowie was appointed.

Forget looks Warnock is the best manager outside the premier.
What he has done at palace is a miracle.
We needed them to get a -30 point deduction to finish above them.

                      Comical rather than scary.
Still think a lot of the Palace players' motivation may be down to being in the shop window -- and being in admin.
Still not convinced that Colin is the man for us.
                      If our players didn't like JM's approach, I don't think they'd like NW's approach.
How long before one of them went crying to the board about the nasty manager? Taarabt did the same to Hart as well.

I think people forget that Colin inherited the best youth set up outside the prem and a fairly decent but underperforming squad.

Personally I'd take Coppell 1st, but Curbishley will build the club from the ground up much more than any other, and will be desperate to rebuild his reputation. I think we would be mad to shun him, he's had enough time out to recharge and assess what he did and he is an intelligent guy.

If Warnock comes it will be for the wrong reason and if we have paid huge amounts of cash will be under big pressure straight away

Curbs or Warnock would be excellent.

                                FACTS:

                                Charlton Athletic
In July 1991, Curbishley became joint manager of the club with Steve Gritt. He took sole command from June 1995 and masterminded the revival of the club's fortunes with two promotions and consolidation into the Premier League. He left them in 12th place in The 2006 Premiership, 13 points above relegation.
Just over 3 years later....Charlton Athletic are now in English footballs third tier.

                                West Ham United
Curbishley returned to management in December 2006 when he was appointed as manager of West Ham United. After looking certain for relegation, Curbishley led West Ham to seven wins out of their last nine games, beating Blackburn, Everton, Bolton, Wigan, Arsenal, Middlesbrough and a last-day 1-0 win at Manchester United, to keep West Ham in the Premier League.
The following season, West Ham Utd finished in the top half of The Premier League.
In 2009 he resigned, with West Ham in 4th position in the Premier League at the time, having just beaten Birmingham City 4-0.

People have their opinions on him, Warnock, Coppell etc... - fine.
A couple of iffy signings, but all managers have those on their records.

But make no mistake, he does promotions, and he does survival.
And THAT is a proper CV.
