Originally posted by terry ball View PostI know mate, its disgusting. Thats why i suggested starting an online campaign, maybe with new owners, it can be a small step in building bridges with the fans again.
Still smarting from being called a £20 fan, or one of a group of spotty-faced teenagers.
That's how much they want to build bridges.
Any guarantee new owners would be any different?
Btw, would love a testimonial for GA -- what was asked of him, especially in the past 18 months, was huge -- had to step up to being caretaker twice, never moaned or complained, just got on with it, even though he knew he was out of his depth.
Went way beyond the call of duty, imo.
And one of a dying breed too -- a PERSONABLE modern footballer.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Gareth does deserve something, he has been a great servant to the club, and possibly had circumstances been different, still be here in some sort of capacity.
Karl Ready did not even get a testimonial, again bang out of order.
I am working though on a QPR Legends side and will let you know how it goes, so hopefully Grareth, Kevin G et al will be back the blue and white hoops

No. He's been a great servant to the club for seven years, and therein lies the rub. Traditionally, a player needs to have been at a club for ten years to qualify for a testimonial.
Leave it be, otherwise it won't be long before people start awarding testimonials to players for having been at a club for five minutes.
It would be seen as being over-sentimental nonsense.

Sounds good rootbeer!
Re the original post, I think he should get something Terry. Indeed, we never had the game for Kiyan did we? So, maybe combine the two..a testimonial/thank you and a fund raiser for what Mark (kiyans dad) is trying to achieve???

I think we should break tradition for a modern day cult hero

I just think that starting a precedent for granting testimonials to players simply because they were nice guys for the few years they were here, would diminish that honour somewhat.

Fans questions are wanted for Gareth Ainsworth in the next issue of the QPR mag. Apart from asking what team he supports and who would he want in a testimonial  perhaps it would be a good opportunity to pass on our individual good wishes to him?
Think details of the mags email address is on the offish somewhere?
