I like Toni he is a decent in your face defender, sadly just doesn’t fit the profile that MW wants to play with. Good luck to him wherever he goes, always gave his best except 45 mins at the Hawthorns.

      Our unsuccessful DOF, Les Ferdinand

“When I joined the club we were paying players to leave, we’re no longer in that position and we have clubs paying us for our players”
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Have I missed something? Have we paid up his contract and given him a free transfer?

If its a wages free up for a better CB on 16k wages fair enough BFG limited but never really let us down.

No point in taking Mawson who looks like he's a injury prone CB we just binned one of them in Hall

Apparently the club is looking at doing a deal with him over the remaining year of his contract, so if true, is paying him to leave.

              Oh, okay.
I suppose you get a new manager in who has s different view of what style he wants to play this can happen. But as 'QPR' says there can be criticism of Les because the style the team should play should drive all manager appointments. Clearly there has been a disconnect.

But perhaps it's because BFG wants to play in Germany and there's no real difference in loaning him out and us paying half his wages to giving him a settlement to half his wages and releasing him. The latter is a clean break and maybe cost neutral. There's no way a settlement will be paying his contract up in full, it will be difference between his contract and what wages he can command in the current economy. The remaining balance could be the wages we pay to another younger player who may have resale value in the future.
